I see a lot of people writing off St Kilda - do it at your peril. We would have beaten Collingwood on Saturday, but not Geelong. We are still a top three team. We will be there on grand final day 2012, the question that remains is who we will play. I think it will be West Coast.
..........:D

1. West Coast
2. Hawthorn
3. Geelong
4. Fremantle
5. Sydney
6. Carlton
7. Essendon
8. Collingwood

1. Pies Will be to strong next year
2. Carlton Will arrive next year
3. Geelong Never ever ever will I underestimate the cats
4. Hawthawn Not quite good enough
5. Essendon Biased but an all star coaching panel and some rising superstars should get us to 5th
6. Sydney- there or there abouts as per normal
7. Fremantle- Takes a year to learn to bore the opposition to death. I expect a slow start and to come home with a wet sail. 2013 is the year i think the dockers are a chance.
8. West Coast- One or two injuries to the older boys and there shot. Like freo I think 2013 could be there year

9. North- Holding pattern. Harvey will struggle as will wells with no pre season
10. Gold Coast- Will surprise a lot with their improvement next year
11. Richmond- Just not good enough
12. Melbourne- Will spend a year learning to play a new game plan
13. Dogs- Will continue to slide
14. Saints- Will struggle big time
15. Lions
16. Crows- Things will get worse much worse before they get better
17. GWS
18. Port - 2011 will look like the good old days

GRAND FINAL - Melbourne d Collingwood

A team that beat, Geelong, West Coast , St Kilda, Sydney and drew with carlton with two down in the first quarter are going to finish 13th

What peeves me the most though is that teams like Melbourne, Richmond and North are apparently going to have 'Natural Progression' but Essendon wont, are people forgetting that the EFC were the youngest team in the Top 8 with an average age of 22.x? and if Fletch retired it'd bring it back a fair bit to

not happy

Cue "Essendon bias" when I have us finish in the top 8.

Geelong
Hawthorn
West Coast
Carlton
Collingwood
Essendon
Richmond
Sydney
North Melbourne
Melbourne
Western Bulldogs
Adelaide
St. Kilda
Fremantle
Brisbane
Gold Coast
Port Adelaide
Greater Western Sydney

I think the top 8 will be slightly different. I can see a few teams improving hugely, and some dropping slightly.

Ladder:
1. Hawthorn
2. Geelong
3. Collingwood
4. Carlton
5. West Coast
6. Sydney
7. Brisbane
8. Adelaide
9. North Melbourne
10. Essendon
11. Fremantle
12. St Kilda
13. Bulldogs
14. Richmond
15. Port Adelaide
16. GC
17. Melbourne
18. GWS

GF: Hawthorn V Geelong
Premiers: Geelong (biased)
Coleman: Buddy Franklin
Brownlow: Joel Selwood/Scott Pendlebury

1. Collingwood (Now the Hunter)
2. Hawthorn (will get close)
3. West Coast (Fit and firing)
4. Fremantle (see WCE)
5. Sydney (too much of a Pro)
6. Carlton (believe their own hype)
7. Kangaroos (class coming through)
8. Geelong (Too Old Too slow and arrogant)

9. Western Bulldogs
10. Adelaide
11. Essendon
12. Melbourne
13. St Kilda
14. Brisbane
15. Richmond
16. Gold Coast

A trend I've noticed, and I'm genuinely curious - why do the vast majority of posters believe Essendon will regress next season? The biggest problem Hirdy inherited was the incompetence of the fitness staff, which he's already gone some lengths to addressing. And when you consider the upside in players like Hurley, Pears, Heppell, Zaharakis, Bellchambers, et al... well, I don't quite understand the general view.

Biggest problem Hird has is the midfield - not fitness. It is still really poor.

James Hird factor won't see you winning early games next year so will miss the 8. Somewhere in between your last 2 years - 8th and 14th = 11th.

1. Hawthorn (2011 must have hurt)
2. Carlton (Can take the next step)
3. Geelong (Well they do not know how to lose do they)
4. Essendon (Fitness saw them 3rd on the ladder after round 8 while having a tough draw. Will be the big improvers)
5. Collingwood (Will go down a bit, before being back in 2013)
6. Sydney (Never leave the top 8 so why this year?)
7. Fremantle (Less injuries will see them come back before challenging in 2013)
8. Richmond (Will finally make it)
--------------------
9. Melbourne (Will have a breakout year in 2013)
10. West Coast (Big sliders due to Injuries like Freo)
11. St Kilda (Lyon said it. End of an era)
12. Brisbane (Were unlucky this year with the amount of close losses. Should improve marketly in 2012 before challenging for top 8.
13. Bulldogs (End of an era)
14. Adelaide (Do not think they will improve just yet. Maybe next year)
15. Gold Coast (Wactch out for them next year)
16. North (Cannot possibly see them improving. Went backwards this year and other teams seem to be able to beat them. Will have a lot of close losses.)
17. Port (Will be a lot better, but not good enough)
18. GWS (Will they win a game?)

I think 2012 will see one of the most even years the game has seen. The top team might even win the minor premiership with 16 wins (Liek 1998).

Qualifying Finals
Essendon d Hawthorn (Will really stir up the rivalry)
Carlton d Geelong

Elimination Finals
Collingwood d Richmond
Fremantle d Sydney

Semi Finals
Collingwood d Hawthorn (straight sets I'm afraid)
Geelong d Fremantle

Preliminary Finals
Carlton d Collingwood
Geelong d Essendon

Grand Final
Geelong d Carlton :(

Premiers: Geelong
Brownlow: Jobe Watson (will be the reason for Essendon's break out year)
Norm Smith: Joel Selwood
NAB Cup: Essendon d Richmond

I'll probably change this after fixtures are released, this is probably not going to look like anything resembling the final ladder but anyway:

1.) Collingwood
2.) Hawthorn
3.) Carlton
4.) West Coast
5.) Fremantle
6.) Geelong
7.) Sydney
8.) North Melbourne
-------------------------
9.) Richmond
10.) Essendon
11.) Brisbane
12.) St Kilda
13.) Melbourne
14.) Western Bulldogs
15.) Gold Coast
16.) Adelaide
17.) Port Adelaide
18.) GWS

Always just a guessing game, made harder by not having a fixture yet.

E.g. I suspect Sydney will be a good chance to make top 8 as they will likely be scheduled to play GWS twice.

1. Collingwood
2. Hawthorn
3. Fremantle
4. Geelong
5. North Melbourne
6. Carlton
7. West Coast
8. Sydney
----------------------
9. Melbourne
10. Richmond
11. Essendon
12. Gold Coast
13. St Kilda
14. Adelaide
15. Brisbane
16. Western Bulldogs
17. GWS
18. Port Adelaide

Premiers: Hawthorn
Grand Finalists: Hawthorn v Collingwood
NAB Cup: Carlton
Coleman: Lance Franklin
Brownlow: Marc Murphy
MVP: Sam Mitchell

- Honeymoon period is over for the Dons
- Big improvers (Freo) and big drop-offs (WB) is just a stab in the dark
- North bias of course, but our young midfielders have got a decent amount of games under their belt now and are getting stronger bodies, despite lacking some polish

-Freo will become a more consistent team with Ross Lyon
-St kilda will start to crumble
-Hawthorn will be the best side all year but Geelong will have the form going into finals which will win it for them

1. Hawthorn (2011 must have hurt)
2. Carlton (Can take the next step)
3. Geelong (Well they do not know how to lose do they)

1. Hawthorn
2. Collingwood
3. Geelong
4. Carlton/West Coast
5. West Coast/Carlton
6. Fremantle
7. Sydney/Essendon
8.North/Melbourne

Really not sure about Melbourne making the 8, think they have a lot of work to do, but in saying that i expect them to improve greatly. Fremantle will come in, but not to 4th, Carlton will stay top 4 if Eagles don't get there.

Premiership - Geelong
Brownlow - Thomas
Coleman - J.Kennedy

it seems I might as well have some fun as well..

1. Geelong
2. Hawthorn
3. Collingwood
4. Carlton
5. Fremantle
6. West Coast
7. Sydney
8. North Melbourne
9. Richmond (again)
10. Essendon
11. St. Kilda
12.Western Bulldogs
13. Adelaide
14. Melbourne
15. Brisbane
16. Gold Coast
17. Port Adelaide
18. GWS

Premier : Collingwood
Brownlow : Mitchell
Coleman : Franklin
Norm Smith : Dale Thomas

1. Collingwood (should be extra hungry)
2. Hawthorn
3. Carlton
4. Geelong
5. Eagles
6. Fremantle
7. Sydney
8. Essendon

Interesting to see so many predictions for the Eagles to slide next year. Not surprised though, really is difficult to predict how they will come out next year.
