There lots of things i love about AFL.
One is beating Richmond and another is beating Richmond in an elimination final after finishing 9th.
Im 48 years old mate - And im used to seeing Richmond v Carlton and I have been happy with the results i have seen in finals between the 2 clubs
Yes, definitely. Having 3 mature 1st rucks didn't work but it's time to get a teenager who will be ripe to take over from Warnock when Kreuzer is around 27yo.Cheers.
Do others think we will be taking another ruck? I think having 2 genuine rucks on the list is not enough.
Are there any semi decent rucks who have been delisted who might be good insurance? Or who is the best of the VFL/SANFL/WAFL rucks??
Not really fussed whether we get a Tall or a Short, a Mid or a Forward.
The one thing I do want though is for the player to be fully committed and have a real desire for the contest and a winning mentality.
We got that last year with the 4 boys we recruited.
It's just too hard to build those components in, if they weren't there in the first place.
Need some one who can play straight away next year should Robbie or Kruezar go down.probably better to go fresh.

Brown is flavour of the month at the moment but my preference would be Toby Nankervis
Indeed. But let's face it, our 'best available' draft pick has been passed over 14 times. (twice in the mini-draft and a dozen times in the ND). Why did he slide to pick 13? Because he has flaws like any other player.
So we're dealing with a potentially elite midfielder, with limitations that saw him slip out of the top 10 ranked junior onballers or a promising forward who mightn't be a Carey or a Franklin but is a key part of our structure for the next decade...
I think 39 would be too early to be drafting Brown. He's not quite a KPF & not quite a ruckman. I guess he is a poor man's Vickery. I would look at him with a late pick or even in the rookie draft, if still available. I would hope at 39 we could get someone who is a definite KPP or a definite midfielder.
Sure would. At the moment there seems to be around 18 players that are regularly sitting in peoples top 20.
Players that are unlikely/won't to fall to us:
Boyd, Kelly, Bontempelli, Billings, Aish, Scharenberg, McDonald, Kolodjashnij = 8 players
Next 10:
Freeman, Lennon, Salem, Sheed, Taylor, Acres, Crouch, McCarthy, Gardiner, Dunstan.
Of course things can and will change but at this stage it looks as though it may come out of the second grouping unless there's another Bootsma on the horizon.
Blake Acres?
Would like KK, Freeman, Acres or even Gardiner (possible replacement for Jamison in two or three years) instead of McCarthy.# 13 Carlton Cameron McCarthy – South Fremantle / 195cm / 89kg / ‘95
#14 GWS Darcy Gardiner – Geelong Falcons / 192cm / 84kg / ‘95
#15 Swans Kade Kolodjashnij – Tas / 188cm / 76kg / ‘95
# 16 Geelong Nathan Freeman – Sandy Dragons / 181cm / 85kg / ‘95

Pick 13 needs to have ticker and good skills.
Hourigan certainly looks a good type, with an AFL ready body & a good kick on him. We can only hope he slides to 39.I think we all had our hopes pinned on Hourigan at 32.... with the 7 spot slide for everitt lets just hope he is still around with teams going gangbusters on all the mids...

I cant either really but every phantom and all the articles have him in the top 8I can't see the fuss over KK, could anyone enlighten me?

That makes 3 of us but if it means someone takes him before our pick and pushes a quality mid closer to us then im not complaining
