I don't disagree, just think Sylvia isn't one of them.

He has talent, no doubt. But he's a downhill skier and pea heart of the highest order. Would make Wellingham look as consistent and dedicated as Ball or Pendles.

If we wanted someone from Melbourne, perhaps we could turn Davey's career around, though I'm not sure where he plays. Small forward with a bit of zip, but even if Krakouer and Didak go, we'll have Kennedy and Mooney chomping at the bit to take games from Elliott/Sinclair/Fasolo/Blair. Not to mention Dwyer and possibly Martin.

Like I said, I don't think we'll be looking at FA this year anyway. But if we did, I'd be looking at Brent Reilly, Max Bailey and Joel Patfull. Reilly and Patfull being shutdown defenders with Bailey as insurance for Witts/Grundy if Jolly retires at the end of this year.

Its an interesting concept and probably worth trying providing we can get Davey on the cheap.

The problem I see is i'm not sure Davey has the discipline to play last line of defense. He also seems too lightly built, physical small forwards like Ballatyne would probably push him easily off or under the ball.

Leon didn't have that problem as he was very strong for his size.

If Melbourne continue their problems then I think we need to zero in on some of their players who might not want to be there. Blokes like Sylvia, Watts & Davey all have talent who could thrive at a good club
