In all honesty and I don't mean to be offensive, I'll trust the ones who said it at the time who werent trying to prove/argue a point.

None taken. I was a fan of Hendo, still am. I'm not trying to ram opinions down any throats, just hopefully adding to robust discussion.:)

There are some pretty ordinary names at the top end of the 2007 draft on reflection, aren't there?

Masten, Morton, Grant, Palmer, Myers...............all before Henderson

I was never a fan of Morton, Sure he could kick but meh!
Hendo should have gone before Grant everyday of the week.
The other guys just havnt come on as expected. It happens.
For the record I was a big fan of Myers. His development has disappointed me the most.

................and don't stop now TGR

Recall enjoying your posts when I first came on board here and I know you are/you were a keen observer of underage football.

Hendo only slipped to pick 8 because he had a leg injury for most of his draft year. Was touted as top 3 before the injury.

Pretty significant leg break IIRC.
Remember seeing him kick a bag for the Falcons at Princes Park late in the year.

What's the reaction been on TC?
Good tactic to get 3 good players over 1 potential gun. We need as much quality as possible in that age bracket. You don't win flags with a team of champions - you win with a champion team. A 3 for 1 trade is a good way to rectify our issues. We get a KPP, mid and whatever pick 19 is - goes a long way to ticking off our shopping list. Instead of just 1 player with pick 7.

Don't recall that haircut tbh.
Might have even been the same game when Dangerfield couldn't hit a target to save his life.

My memories of Patty are him playing on the HBF being a 30m player. Gathering the ball, running backwards for 30m then bombing it 60m down the field.:D

However, his 2nd year with the Falcons was a big improvement after he was drafted.

The reaction to Whiley hasn't been that enthusiastic.

Key word. The chances of becoming a gun player is less than becoming a very good to good player. It's just the chances of becoming a spud is a lot less.

:D

You're not there anymore?:D
Nope...deactivated DocSherrin...and just perusing on here during trade 'week'. Then I'll do the same. It's all part of slowly weening myself off of a game and club that I'm incredibly disenchanted with. There are some quality people on TC (here too no doubt), but I would much rather 'talk Carlton' over a beer than over a forum with idiots interrupting.

Forums used to be where you came to find out some news - that's certainly relevant for some - but not for me. Twitter is quicker and if I have a question of the club - I can ask that question to people at the club.

I get that. I'm inactive for periods also as I feel that most of what I would contribute has already been said.
Having said that I always lurk.

You can be interrupted by plenty of idiots on Twitter aswell.:D

Sounds like a plan. Good on you.
When one feels such a way and all the fun has been sucked out then the move away is wise.........hanging around and complaining ad nauseum, isn't.

Can see many others, especially those on the other side of 40 doing so, given the way the AFL are going. Hope the AFL are drafting hard. They may need to.

I've got pretty mich same mindset as the Doc. Over AFL at the moment and not even the prospect of * being crap over the next few years can hold my interest. Game is compromised on so many levels but hope the Blues can come through it strongly.
