$6m over 6 years. I've said it before but I just don't rate Boyd as highly as everyone else. Happy to be proven wrong. He'll probably monster Dunn and TMac next time we play them now :p

You have to ask the question as to how long before he even comes close to earning his mill per year.

Also, if there actually is a rift/divide between the senior and younger brigades at the Dogs then this contract will do it wonders.

Still a great long term get though.

GWS want McCartin now? surely Cameron cant play forward alone.
Yep, expect them to make us an offer which will give them a better chance of landing McCartin to them now. Pick 3 for Pick 4 and 6, or Pick 3 for one of there mids plus one of our early picks depending who they offer.

I'd say it'll probably be heavily front-loaded. With Griffen, Cooney, etc out they'd have quite a bit of cap space in the short-run before Macrae, Libba, Stringer and Bontempelli start to peak.

Pick 3 for 6 and 7 would do us nicely, I'd think.

Boyd is basically hogan
He's really not. As Theseventhhamster said he doesn't have the mobility nor agility nor the tank. Probably a better contested mark though, and definitely a better kick for goal.

Speaking of Hogan though I'm just glad we nailed him down with another contract early :p Will be very interesting when we play the Bulldogs - two highly rated young KPFs at either end.

I'd do that. I find this talk of multiple top 10 picks for a higher top 10 pick a bit baffling though - Petracca would want to be an absolute out and out superstar to justify giving up two gun players for him. I'd take picks 9 and 10 over 1 any day of the week. We need quantity and quality.

Depends on if you like the players who might slide there.

Looks like Hogan in a ruck's body. Doesn't look overly mobile/agile.

He probably has the same chance of making it at afl level is my point

They are both built like young tony locketts and should be close to goals as often as possible

Keep 2 and 3, trading down is silly.
Somewhat agree. I wouldn't do it for 6 and 7 (unless we rate Lever, etc higher than McCartin), but I'd do it for 7 and a quality GWS mid like Tyson who's effectively worth a top 3 pick on his own.

If there aren't 10 good kids in a draft year, AFL is in trouble. Then again, I suppose we've had a few damn weak drafts.

As much as we need one superstar player, two excellent players would be just as good to us and less "all your eggs". That's all I'm saying.

I reckon Hogan's more your Carey type all rounder. Not saying calibre but he's capable of high possession lead up work.

Lol that's insane. All their eggs in 1 basket.

Yup.

Giants will try to hold 4 and draft Wright or McCartin I think. Or Lever. It'll be about 6 and 7.
