Let's just become the bad boy club.

Sounds sexy!

Everitt can play forward or back, 194cm, he's pacy and a pretty tough unit, 24yrs of age, now a fully mature AFL body.
I reckon in a fresh quality environment he'd thrive.
We could do a lot worse, and he's ready to go, why not?

In all honesty I would say he still needs to put on 5-10kgs. He's only 89 at the moment.

Say he gained a couple in the pre that would be 'ok' because he's a running tall, a bit like Mackie only a little taller.
The guy has got some toe for his height so could even play defensive wing and he's also a strong mark.
I wouldn't mind what he could add to the team dynamic.

How much does he cost then? I guess we could get him for pretty cheap.
Where does that leave Brown and Thurlow?

Has Everitt ever played as a key defender? I've always seen him as a rangy HF/HB/W and we've got a stack of those.

Listening to Jordan Russell on SEN earlier, I think another team will give him a crack in the AFL. Hard to know what to make of his last couple of years (particularly the last 12 months with Collingwood), his calf problems aren't great for a 26 year old (turning 27 next month) and he's played his best football as a half back, which isn't a real need for us. But he said that he can play a few different positions and has done a bit of tagging, which is obviously of interest to us, if he could do that as a permanent role. I wouldn't lock it in or anything, but I reckon it would be worth the club getting him in for a chat.

Thought we were finally saying goodbye to Brown?????.......did you watch the VFL GF do you really need to be reminded?
AE would eat him for breakfast!
He wouldn't compete with Thurlow imo, both are versitile, athletic and strong overhead good runners.
He fills the in between age group that success has weakened. He's ready made and will improve imo.

Why don't se do a complete 180 on our culture and recruit EVERY dickhead that is up? Shaw, Sylvia, Garlett, Thorp - hey, even Adams has history!! Is the ink dry on Martin's contract yet?! Let's just become the bad boy club.
Boy...Lucky for us u weren't in charge in 1985 when we gave a chance on DICKHEAD named Gary Ablett...
And 6-7 years ago when another DICKHEAD StevieJ caused us headaches...
and while we are at it Matty Stokes....
You see where i'am getting at... People do stupid things.. Doesn't mean they are BAD people..
You can't have 40 choirboys....
I say get GARLETT... Top player in the WAFL as a 18 yo.... Onwards and upwards for him...
GET HIM WELLSY !!

I hope we saying goodbye to Brown. I just like to poke the bear a bit and see where your thinking lies ;)

So back line is....?
Boris - Tom - River
Everitt - Taylor - Mackie

Just relax Carfridge we all know you don't like Trav.
Don't need to bang on about it all the time you poor little thing.

Don't say you were just replying, just bite your tongue and move on we know where you sit with certain players.

Nah, I'll just say mind your own fcuking business and I'll say whatever I want. And about the last thing I'll ever do is take advice from you.

I think we are on the same page Partridge , at least as far as Shaw goes.
So what are your thoughts on the other names floating in the trade-a-sphere

SSelwood , Adams , Longer and now Shiel (GWS). (add any names you care to)

My pov is -
Selwood will probably be too expensive in trade terms. Longer will probably only go to a club when he is almost preferred #1 or #2 ruck . So almost no chance being at Geelong

Adams and Shiel
Adams is out of contract and will have a heap of suitors. Just like with Mumford , GWS will be chasing him hard with the spare dollars. If The Pies are willing to trade for one of them , thats where they will go. Shiel is contracted so Im sure GWS will play tough.

So as much as Id be interested in both GWS players , again I doubt they will be in Hoops next year. Would take either in preference to Shaw

Yeah tend to agree with Scott Selwood. Adams and Shiel would seem to be the ones Geelong would look favourably on - just like Caddy this time last year. The question is how much they have to give up. Still very reluctant to give up (too many) draft picks though - they're the gold all clubs are built on.

The halfback line is an obvious but the guy can play half forward a la Gunston, has height pace and agility, could be thrown to a wing for a while for central marking power while still providing run.

Now!... lets try ticking some of those boxes with Brown!!

And he's tough, lets not forget that!

So in saying that why cant West get a game at Geelong? At the moment it looks like Blicavs and Vardy are well ahead of him on the pecking order not too mention Simpson as the number 1 and Macintosh if he is fit.

That's the question plenty of us have asked many times. It's fine that the club thinks the others offer more - that's the way it goes. But unfortunately that ruck combination got royally slaughtered in the Qualifying Final which completely screwed our season and West was sitting in the stands. So even though the match committee decided that was the option, doesn't make it right.

Besides, for all we know there could be behind the scenes reasons as well. Either way it seems he's history at Geelong.

On the cats website too....I would love to know where the MC are going with this !? all we've heard on the chappy case n now podsy release is pre-worded statements of scotty. Is chappy next ? whats there process of who they want ? target ? what.....tell us ffs

They could tell us, but they'd have to kill us.
Fair dinkum, of course they're not going to give away their aims before trading and drafting is complete, it would be suicidal stupidity.
I'd still like to know, though. ;)

According to trade winds on the AFL website, Hawks are going after Longer big time now that Mumford's going to GWS. Interesting too that Melbourne are saying they're willing to trade pick 2 in the draft.

Imagine what Wells could do if he had that little nugget in his back pocket.

At the right price he'd be a handy inclusion, has some height and pace still young enough and improving, the Brown supporters here won't like the idea, but Everitt would be ready to go.

I hope he would. Is he any better though? He's been around a long time, he's played 79 games, and is shorter and lighter than Brown. Despite being 2 years older. So not convinced it would be any improvement necessarily.
