AFLW 2024 - Round 9 - Indigenous Round - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Everitt can play forward or back, 194cm, he's pacy and a pretty tough unit, 24yrs of age, now a fully mature AFL body.
I reckon in a fresh quality environment he'd thrive.
We could do a lot worse, and he's ready to go, why not?
In all honesty I would say he still needs to put on 5-10kgs. He's only 89 at the moment.
Say he gained a couple in the pre that would be 'ok' because he's a running tall, a bit like Mackie only a little taller.
The guy has got some toe for his height so could even play defensive wing and he's also a strong mark.
I wouldn't mind what he could add to the team dynamic.
Would rather give games to Brown than Everitt, I believe he has more up side.
How much does he cost then? I guess we could get him for pretty cheap.
Where does that leave Brown and Thurlow?
Boy...Lucky for us u weren't in charge in 1985 when we gave a chance on DICKHEAD named Gary Ablett...Why don't se do a complete 180 on our culture and recruit EVERY dickhead that is up? Shaw, Sylvia, Garlett, Thorp - hey, even Adams has history!! Is the ink dry on Martin's contract yet?! Let's just become the bad boy club.
Thought we were finally saying goodbye to Brown?????.......did you watch the VFL GF do you really need to be reminded?
AE would eat him for breakfast!
He wouldn't compete with Thurlow imo, both are versitile, athletic and strong overhead good runners.
He fills the in between age group that success has weakened. He's ready made and will improve imo.
I dont see brown kicking a bullshower goal from 50 on the boundary line.I don't rate Brown at all and have to agree with you on this one.
Just relax Carfridge we all know you don't like Trav.
Don't need to bang on about it all the time you poor little thing.
Don't say you were just replying, just bite your tongue and move on we know where you sit with certain players.
I think we are on the same page Partridge , at least as far as Shaw goes.
So what are your thoughts on the other names floating in the trade-a-sphere
SSelwood , Adams , Longer and now Shiel (GWS). (add any names you care to)
My pov is -
Selwood will probably be too expensive in trade terms. Longer will probably only go to a club when he is almost preferred #1 or #2 ruck . So almost no chance being at Geelong
Adams and Shiel
Adams is out of contract and will have a heap of suitors. Just like with Mumford , GWS will be chasing him hard with the spare dollars. If The Pies are willing to trade for one of them , thats where they will go. Shiel is contracted so Im sure GWS will play tough.
So as much as Id be interested in both GWS players , again I doubt they will be in Hoops next year. Would take either in preference to Shaw
I hope we saying goodbye to Brown. I just like to poke the bear a bit and see where your thinking lies
So back line is....?
Boris - Tom - River
Everitt - Taylor - Mackie
So in saying that why cant West get a game at Geelong? At the moment it looks like Blicavs and Vardy are well ahead of him on the pecking order not too mention Simpson as the number 1 and Macintosh if he is fit.
I hope so.
Of course that is if west coast will take varcoe, west and our first pick.
On the cats website too....I would love to know where the MC are going with this !? all we've heard on the chappy case n now podsy release is pre-worded statements of scotty. Is chappy next ? whats there process of who they want ? target ? what.....tell us ffs
At the right price he'd be a handy inclusion, has some height and pace still young enough and improving, the Brown supporters here won't like the idea, but Everitt would be ready to go.
