and why do the pies need a ruckman? I thought Grundy was the best thing to come along since the wheel? Before him Witts? Who's coaching the rucks these days down at collingwood?

Hudson came out of retirement (again) onto the rookie list but was ruck coach as well.

Fasolo can't get a game and isnt the type of player we need. Could see Martin wanting to go, given his age, might want to go to a club in a premiership window, thought theirs seems to be closing.

Sam Shaw from the Crows, Butcher from the Power and Jones from Dogs. Look into this Lions.

I don't feel Jones would add anything to our list we don't already have. He hasn't set the world on fire at the Dogs and I feel he is not the answer to our forward issue, but in saying that if we can get him for cheap ( which I doubt we could ) I wouldn't say no.

No, neither would I but if the price was right...

I haven't seen a lot of the Pies this year. How's Fasalo travelling? (with the understanding that this is very hypothetical)

We'd need considerable overs for Martin if we were to trade him. Whereas on current form, Fasolo wouldn't even come close.

For the cheap yes. Jones is a proven contested marking specialist something that we lack at present.

Personally I would jump at this. Been a fan of Butcher for a while. We've got a good track record of straigtening out bad kicks.
It's not just his kicking.
He's just not a very good player at all.

Did reasonably well playing off half back for a while I think. Got injured and returned to the forward line as half the players on Collingwood's list seem to be unaccountable flankers. Got dropped.
Has talent but I don't think he's the kind of player we need.
Re-signed this year anyway.
Do no want Fasolo. No defensive side and has a terrible taste of venues when it comes to Melbourne night life.
Also refers to himself as 'The Prince of Perth'.
Definite red flag.

Why Sam Shaw?

i know it's been thrown up before but Martin from the pies would be a handy get imo. Much rather him than fasalo.

VFL form been impressive. Most of the Collingwood boys think he deserves to be in the side. Been in the bests 12 out of 17 matches, kicked 13 goals and averaging 27.5 disposals, 5 marks and 4 tackles a game.

I'd seriously consider Saad.

I'd be very keen on Kyle Martin or Josh Thomas from the Pies. Both would probably be within the realm of possibility too.

Would hate if Stef went there though, he'd absolutely kill it for them...

I imagine Kyle Martin would be best 22 or thereabouts for 3-5 Victorian clubs. While he does seem like a good player and he was eye-catching at the Gabba last year, I'd be surprised if he preferred us over Melbourne, Carlton, St. Kilda etc.
Thomas might be a better chance since he's a Queenslander.
