This is the opening bounce at the 2014 Grand Final

Looks like the interchange area and approximately 25% of the playing surface is in full shade or partial shade through the Olympic Stand roof

And this is just before half time of the 2008 Grand Final - so approximately 50% of the ground is in shade for the start of the third quarter Screenshot 2015-10-02 21.29.45.png

How are we going in slower and taller than any other game where we have Hartung as a sub?

He is normally only called upon to play the last quarter.

The analysis and comments surrounding Hartung, a guy who has nothing to do with the first 3 quarters of just every game he's every been named as sub, is perplexing.
It means that we're most likely starting with one less runner/small assuming Suckling or Duryea don the vest.

Not that it's a concern of mine, I feel really confident about our line up and I'm wrapped that Schoey has gotten a guernsey.

MacLure is now massively on the WCE.

Game over. End of an era :(
Mate MacLure isn't always right. In 2011 he and David King mounted a case for Hawthorn and WCE to play off in the Grand Final and then when they missed the Grand Final, he tipped Collingwood to win the Premiership which was also wrong. In 2012 he tipped Hawthorn. So, for MacLure, this could be one of those types of years. I think 2013 and 2014 were easy to tip in all honesty. This is much harder given some of the lapses that Hawthorn has had heading into the Grand Final.

You've filled me with ease. I am just reading way too much into everything.

If anyone is selling a standing room ticket or two let me know. Can call or SMS on 0403 805 905. Prepared to pay $$. Would love to go!

There are too many people, saying too many outlandish things just to get spoken about, which leads to Twitter followers for these people, which leads to them feeling important, which raises their self esteem, then somehow they get on TV on some stupid talk show or reality TV which somehow doesn't get axed because it's rating through the roof, which leads to me lowering my faith in society.

Some of the articles around this week are funny, the writer has obviously been give the job of writing the pro hawks article, they've started off ok but by the third paragraph their personal wishes start to come through and by the end they are at best having a bet each way after suggesting that Clarko has lost the plot or that the players have etc

If we win watching them all line up to praise us through gritted teeth while saying they believed we could do it all along will be almost as much fun as celebrating three in a row

It's entirely possible that West Coast will refuse to send Sinclair forward when he's not rucking leaving Lake without a real match-up. Brian isn't agile enough to play as a spare, he needs the ball kicked to his opponent otherwise he won't get to nearly enough contests.
It will be really interesting to see how the Eagles structure up, Lake is unique in that even though he plays on the final line of defence he is a genuine match winner.
Master stroke : If he does not have a match up play him on Jeremy McGovern. Game over...

Buddy I think all passionate supporters feel exactly as you do. I am just as nervous and I think that's great because it means the Hawthorn boys will also be a little nervous and will not lapse into thinking that they are certainties. That's the hardest feeling to create when a team is superior to other teams. Clarkson mentioned this after 2012. He learnt a big lesson that he needs to keep his boys on their toes. And despite what everyone thinks and the fact that Clarko has denied it, I think Clarko knew that WCE were the team to beat this year and put a real challenge in front of the boys by experimenting and not caring too much about winning in the first final. I believe had we won that, we would not be in the Grand Final tomorrow. Instead, WCE think they have it over us (I gather that from Adam Simpson's expression and the rest of the WCE players) while our boys have woken up from their slumber and are on their toes for tomorrow. From a coaching perspective there is nothing more Clarko could have done. He has given his players as much warning and incentive as possible to say that this WCE team is the one to beat and not to be taken lightly.

Now it's up to the boys and a little luck or fate, whichever you believe in.
