Houli is more consistent largely because he has more discipline but pound for pound as far as pure talent goes Yarran has it all over Houli and anyone who says otherwise either hasn't seen much football or is taking the piss
Without a Doubt !! I Totally agree that talent & Skill Yarran has all the Tools and definately a better skill set than Houli

But in their 7 years as professional afl footballers Houli has been the better player, Whilst Yarran has shown at certain times that he is an elite talent, He certainly is far from elite footballer. I rate Yarran Highly and probably more than most as i watch alot of carlton games

But if you were to say to me right now which player would you take for free out of Buckley or Yarran - I would take Buckley

Houli's had 9 years at AFL level & only played 26 games in the first 4 years.
Yarran has had 7 seasons at AFL level & was best 22 in his 3rd season at the club (2011). He is also 2 1/2 years younger than Houli.

Exactly.
And to add to that, with Weitering not only will he be a lot cheaper, he will give you a much higher output from the get go as he is ready to rock & roll from the start of his 1st season. Boyd is still a work in progress..

So, if you piece together all of the current whispers, this is what we are doing :

OUT : #1, #19 & Casboult
IN : Carlisle & Boyd

keep #1

19 -> carlisle

If we were really after boyd, then offer up henderson + casboult for boyd + change.

Would give the dogs 2 X best 22 players that will significantly improve their team.

I wouldn't be happy losing casboult though :(

What about the character of Weitering VS Boyd?
I think we will trade our pick 1 . The other guy would be much better pick up than weitering the full forward kid that Brisbane want the name escapes . We need to improve our offensive power . I hear alot of guys on here saying we are gonna be at the bottom for a long while that's bullswool we can turn it around really quickly just last year west chats finished down the bottom and look em now their playing off in a grand final . We just need to be creative and bold over the trade and draft period ..need forwards more than anything and a krummer .

Out at Bullswool :)

Should point out that West Coast have been, patiently and methodically rebuilding in the past 6-7 seasons (won a spoon in that time)

Quick fix one year turn around are no longer possibly in today's footy climate.

Casboult would be a fringe player there... Henderson would make the 22 though.

There is as much chance of a trade like that happening as a post I made earlier of yarran to Melbourne.

I only "collated" the discussion points from the past day, maybe you should you ask the people peddling the whispers ??

I was asking because you collated them into a trade format but we got nothing for Casboult. I'm sure nobody was suggesting we gave him away.

If I had realised you were only posting it to have a shot at others, I would have responded differently.

What does that mean ??

Means BF admin had an issue with a poster having alias accounts. Not that they were misusing them necessarily but if you have a few, it does give you scope to get up to mischief. Sometimes in that situation, they ask you to choose one.

If Boyd and Weitering are both hyped, and both great long term prospects, I'll take the one that doesn't cost 900K thanks.
Actually Boyd is on more than $900,000. I heard recently on radio that because Boyd was still a 2nd year player this year the AFL do not allow him to be paid more than the standard contract for first and second year players. Based on this Boyd will be getting paid the bulk of the $7 million over the next 6 years, meaning his contract is on average over $1 million a year.

Let the Doggies enjoy the fruits of their cleverness - I doubt that Boyd's teammates make him feel welcome loved and respected. Best thing Boyd could do for himself is actually volunteer to take a pay cut.
