You guys are gonna kill me, but does anyone think we do a St Kilda and trade Simpson (to the Hawks)?

He's my favorite player and he deserves a flag. Id rather see him go out that way, than getting sucked down into the mire of a three year rebuild at the bottom of the ladder.

We might be able to get a decent pick off them too.

Aside from the obvious 'no way, not simmo' stuff.... Can't see teams trading much (anything) of value for simmo-esque players any more when you can pick up RFAs quite easily these days.

I'd be open trading anyone subject to the deal offered.

My 2 cents worth:

Carlton let Hendersook go to PSD
Brisbane let Aish go to PSD.
Both clubs make a point to players and get a trade done without making a trade.
Carlton pick up Aish and Brisbane pick up Hendersook.

you need to buld a core of similar aged guns - and move on from there..some of ours have been off loaded for nothing by Malthouse or are now deciding to leave because we are in rebuild.

Exactly. So let's hit the draft and not hamstring that by trading for players that may or may not be fully committed.

Don't be so naïve mate. We're living in 2015 we're EVERY player has a manager employed to ensure their financial future. It's a free agency competition and the most successful clubs use the trade period to strengthen their list - just as we should do. Get used to it.

How am I being naive... mate? No doubt there is a time and place for free agency and that will come when we are destination club. Right now we couldn't be further from it. The strongest lists are built on getting the right talent through the draft, which is what we should be focusing on; the draft.

You're right, I am gonna kill you.

Hey guys, I hate to come over as an opposition supporter trying to pry a highly rated player away from you, but have there been any updates or whispers on the Menzel situation.

From what I had heard along the grape vine, we seemed very confident in getting him over, however the last 2 weeks or so there has been nothing reported at all....

Is he looking to stay with Bolton now as the head coach?

Our people are saying he's contracted and isn't in discussions. We're of the belief he'll be in navy next year.

The Menzel talk come from media trying make a story out of nothing which happens alot. Last I heard from the club is that he is contracted and a required player

Ive got a 3 way trade:
Richmond - Lose: pick 12 Get: yarran townsead
Carlton - Lose: yarran, 20, 38 Get: 12, plowman, sumner, phillips lamb
GWS: Lose- plowman, townsead, sumner phillips lamb. Get: pick 20, 38

would richmond be happy with that? i reckon carlton and GWS would definitely be

If we can get pick 12 from Bitchmond, who thinks that we wouldnt package picks 12 and 17 together in an offer to GWS for Treloar?
To go one step further, my question is;
If by some miracle either one of Aish or Treloar slip through to PSD, can anyone say with certainty that we would pick them up at the risk of 'a gentleman's agreement' with Collingwood or Brisbane? ie. Luke Ball...
I'm sincerely hoping that we get the opportunity to take Treloar if by some miracle he goes to PSD.
Besides, Brisbane owe us one for Aish.

oh, well how about if we do the 12 and 31 for yaz and 20:

bell, cas 31 and 56 for 17 and 22?
Trading one of those picks (31 or 56) would be enough. Couldn't see us parting with 2 players AND 2 picks, for just 2 picks.
Unless of course an agreement of letting Aish come to us in the PSD is discussed. Even then I'd rather we keep Aish out of discussions until the end of the trade period.

jay clark reckons that if we trade casboult and bell in a package we will get 1 second round pick from brisbane (pick 21 assumably)

Pretty confident that three way trade will just be Hendo-> cats -> 2016 1st rounder -> Giants -> Tomlinson -> Carlton. If this is the case I'd be pretty happy although multiple first rounders next year would be very nice in what is supposed to be a strong draft.
Don't get this 'Next year's first rounder' speculation.
Let's think about this reasonably for a second... At worst case scenario, it's pick 18. If we want pick 12 for Yarran, surely we wouldn't be happy with pick 18 for Hendo? Even if we consider it a straight swap for Tomlinson, with all the hype of next years draft depth, that's a risk where Hendo is Proven.
Conversely, if Geelong end up spooners and we potentially have pick #1, we would be spewing we gave up Pick#1 in a strong draft for Tomlinson.

There is just no sense in this risk of a 1st rounder of 2016 trade. I don't think it will happen. I'm sure we'll demand something this year.

or maybe we keep 20 and give them 12 and they throw in Tomlinson so basically we get all five players for Yarran (12) and pick 38

Head of Football Andrew McKay: "There may well be a three-way deal going on here that will benefit us in the long run."

But who will the other clubs be?!
Theres a good chance that the 3 way deal would involve Carlton/Richmond/GWS
Both Carlton and Richmond are looking to bring GWS players in at the same time trying to sort the yarran deal also

Whaaaaat!

Tell him he's dreaming!

Two early second round picks as a starting point.....FMD (Couldn't find a Icon face for it so I'll just say it...Dick Head).

What the hell are these so called experts on? They're no good at what they get paid to do. I think they must be on the piss all day.
