So, if you piece together all of the current whispers, this is what we are doing :

OUT : #1, #19 & Casboult
IN : Carlisle & Boyd

Boyd for #1 is not current. Has died in the arse.

Are you saying #19 and Casboult for Carlisle?

If Yarran ends up anywhere other than Richmond, watch all the Tigers supporters come on here gloating about how they "didn't want him anyway!"

Biggest bunch of campaigners.

Hope he does.

Like Treloar rejecting them, and Hartlett rejecting them.

They might finally work out what they are: a bunch of B graders who will finish bottom part of their eight for a few years before tumbling down the ladder. (And that's something we know a bit about).

Settled and relatively at peace, Yarran is nothing short of a massive, almost unquantifiable upgrade on Houli.
I would really hate to get into a slinging match about this and the chances are that Yarran will be a richmond player so im not trying to down play yarrans career but seriously career to date Houli is way way ahead of Yarran and there are no guarantees yarran will ever become any more than he has been so far. Big difference in their out put so far in 7 years

If both of our guys were prepared to move to Perth (Yarran is originally from there so that may be a carrot for him) then Freo's first-round pick (#15 or #16) plus emerging KPP Alex Pearce would be a good result for both clubs IMO.

Freo are desperate for bookends just like us. Mcpharlin has retired and Pav will most likely follw, Johnson is getting older and his body only allows him to play so much, so Pearce surely wont be going anywhere. Henderson would appeal to them but news has it that they are in to Bennel which would take this years first pick out of any trade.

It has been laughable that they have left Pav in the forward line, unassisted, for so long. For a team that has been on the verge of a premiership, one would think they would have been a helluva lot more active in chasing a second key forward years ago.

They did, they chased Mitch Clark hard, Trav Cloke and others. It hasn't been from lack of effort.

According to Moe, #19 is for Carlisle and its a done deal.

Someone else has us giving away #1 & #19 for Boyd and then there was the Casboult to the Dogs story as well.

What. #1 would get Boyd and something else.

What are we getting for Casboult?

If Houli is way ahead of Yarran then why the hell would Richmond want to pick him up. Seriously mate you have no idea how good Yarran is

I have had Houli in my UltimateFooty league for the last 4 seasons and he has been a very good performer, I rate him a lot more than many of the people on here who don't seem to rate him all that highly, he hits targets and provides run out of the backline.

You may focus on stats when you are looking at players worth but you need to look at the stats that matter!! Chris Yarran gains massive metres and hits targets inside 50 more than just about any player in the league, he doesn't do the handball wrap around and gather 3 or 4 useless disposals in a play like Swan or Ablett, he runs forward, takes on players and hits targets, his disposals count!! Thus why Champion Data rated him Elite (top 10% in the league) as a defender prior to this year.

Trying to use Statistics to believe that houli has been a better player just proves why you don't deserve yaz. LET'S KEEP YAZ A BLUE!!!!!!

"Potential" superstar talent and does not warrant a 1 million a yr contract.

Bottom line is when you consider that even 900k would mean Boyd earns more than ACTUAL superstars such as Dangerfield, Pendlebury and Hodge, plus the premier forwards of the competition like Kennedy and Roughead, you see how ridiculous it is.

Not to mention we have seen countless times where kids with 'potential' and big wraps as a junior don't actually end up making it...

Its not hard to image that having such a big contract can hurt his development and possibly prevent him reaching superstar status due to the crippling pressure and media scrutiny, and also getting complacent. Surely when you're a 19 yr old kid and you KNOW you have $6 million secured you may not go all out and be quite as desperate...

We were prepared to pay around the 900K mark for Boyd.......for next year. Dogs are paying around the 1.1 mil mark from here on in (reportedly)
If The Dogs sucked up 200K a year, we'd get what we wanted last year.........and so would Boyd.

Given we've been talking to the Dogs alone, suggests that there has been/still is, some interest there from both parties.

You know what last off-season the dogs were a rabble, losing their coach, CEO and captain, who was also their best player.

Griffen wanted out to GWS, and the Dogs HAD to stand up for themselves and get something big back. It all seemed to happen quite fast, certainly not planned. They got Boyd who wanted to come home to VIC.

Not that inconceivable that with their success without him this year, and with Bev at the helm possibly having a different philosophy, that the Dogs may be open to trading Boyd to us while still getting a good deal in return of course such as Weitering.

You pay players $900k a year when they have actually played footy deserving of it, not on potential future output. It's a noose around a young players neck, as seen with Scully. Let the Doggies reap what they've sown, whatever that is.

Yes, this is one of the best posts I have read

What. #1 would get Boyd and something else.

What are we getting for Casboult?

Depends on who you ask.

To be completely objective though, you'd have to think if anything its #1 for Boyd straight swap with Dogs paying some salary, otherwise WE would be the ones giving something else extra...

Theres big wraps on Weitering, but its still nothing compared to the outrageous hype over Boyd. The talk about Boyd and how good he was/will become was on another level. Add the fact he is a KPF and taking everything else (e.g. salary) out of the equation and i think most would say he is worth more than Weitering.

Freo will be desperate for McCarthy, it will be hard to deal with them!

I've seen Schache ranked above Boyd so 2 year old hype doesn't impress. No way we have to give up more with two stand out KPP's at the top of this draft and Boyd not showing much yet.

This Boyd talk sounds like BS! Bulldogs would be depressed about Boyd's effort! They won't trade him after 1 year!!
100% agree, the chance of Boyd coming is completely minuscule. Just been signed up as a million dollar man for the doggies so no way would he leave and neither would we trade Casboult. This talk is rubbish and no use thinking about.
