Looks like the membership numbers have been updated on the Lions site - 17,298. Can anyone provide a comparison against this time last year? Personally I expected it to be a touch higher at this stage of the year, oh well still plenty of time for people to get on board!

A poor updated figure; the site had 16,000 in mid November

Xmas etc. People will come back when the season starts, probably important we go well in the pre season games.

17,298 in late January is actually a really good figure in comparison to recent times. It is 17.3% or 2,549 higher than we had at a similar time last year.

- On 28/1/2014 we had 14,749 members and went on to total 23,930.
- On 31/1/2013 we had 13,699 members and went on to finish with 24,130.
- On 30/1/2012 we had 12,387 members and finished with a total of 20,762.
- On 27/1/2011 we had 14,693 members but only finished with a total of 20,792.

Based on the percentage we up over previous years, we are currently heading for a final membership figure of anywhere between 24.5k and 30.5k.

The comparison to last year currently suggests a final figure of around 28,000 (an increase of 17.3%), although I think 26,500 (an increase of just over 10%) may be more likely - which would still be a good outcome.

On the 26/01/2014 - the membership number on the website was 14,591. Not too sure if it was updated at that stage.
