At this point I'd be surprised if they didn't land Treloar and Aish, not only because they're Collingwood, but because they're flying and young.

Hmmm think they only get one of those guys. They won't have the draft currency. Danger and one of Aish/Treolar more likely.

If Trout and Co are looking at FA options this year I could see us making a play for Matty Suckling.

From the team today it would be Gilbert out and Suckling in. Roberton then shifts back a little more and Suckling takes that role on the wing.

Gives us that elite outside ball user, about to turn 27 though which is a knock against him but he wont be taking the spot from a kid as he would be pushing out Gilbert (or Ray) from our "Best 22".

Send White and our 2nd to Freo for Weller and their 3rd...

Throw in Balic with our first, plus a returning Billings and we will have some seriously elite footskills through the midfield!

Roberton is a BIG midfielder. Bont is a poor mans Roberton.

There is something seriously broken in the system when a top 8 club can get two young players who are only just out of the draft with out having to trade at their value.

I would just about bet my left nut the Pies get one of Dangerfield, Treloar or Aish. Danger the most unlikely, Treloar the most likely and Aish the backup if they don't get Treolar.

they can only get 1 of treloar and aish. getting either will be hard enough given they'll finish close to the 4

On the surface Goddard is worth way more but you get the sense they need to go full rebuild over there.

I know Goddard doesn't "fit the age" but I wouldn't underestimate the kind of influence (positive) he would have on the kids

But like having Burke, Lowe and Harvey around to train too, Kosi and Lenny.

Carlisle would be an ideal Fisher replacement. I would love to ream Dodoro and the Injectors in that trade. Give them Spencer White and a stiff jab and that'll do them.

What a win! I was extremely confident going in but nobody could have expected a result like that!
Ameet and co very busy behind the scenes. More than a few "off the record" meetings with player managers the last 2 weeks or so. The real season starts now for us list wise. Still a lot of chatter about Lachie Weller on BF, very interesting....I still think he will stay put for next year but a lot can happen in 3 months.
If we finish too high and miss out on Parish then there's 2 others we'd be happy to draft, if we are looking at a pick around 5 or 6 then I wouldn't be surprised if we slightly stretch for the mid we like.
Expect a debut in a fortnight with injury/form permitting and also we are currently in middle of re-signing/extending some more of our youngsters.
Everybody feeling very good about where club is headed, the players especially.

Draft/trade currency matters little. The players in question are out of contract and will likely nominate Collingwood as a destination. If this happens, the other teams must accept whatever Collingwood offers, likely their 1st pick for one and 2nd pick for the other, steak knives thrown in or whatever. Trades get done, currency or not.

weller has a fair way to go after what i saw on the weekend vs my subi. i'd happily lay buy him. let him sit for 12 months and then pounce for nothing. he's definitely gone. just a matter of time

has put on size but is still very raw, was playing more inside with blakely. has speed on the outside and is usually good in his disposal, this weekend he wasnt that great

Awesome to hear. I think the Weller chat is just us being hopeful (unless you are referring to chatter outside this thread I haven't seen). He's exactly what we need and most would love the two brothers playing together.

Nope. Do not want Goddard back at all.

He might be a ruthless trainer and a great leader off the park but his body languange and demonstrative finger pointing are just pathetic on game day.

There was a very big group of us who hated the idea of him as captain back in 2011/12 because he just can not handle losing in any way.

Given his display today I am now 100% against him being around the club, even if he came for free.

Disagree. The Pies will get the trades done. If GWS want to force Treloar into the draft or PSD, so be it, but they give up the opportunity to grab a first round pick (and potentially a player) for nothing and send a message to the playing group that they care nought for them. Trades get done.

Trades do get done....Within reason. Agree Pies will find a way to get Treloar, if he's the guy they target specifically, but Treloar AND Aish. Can't see it happening.
