He's averaging 4 tackles and 25 possessions a game this year. Playing football is not an issue for him.

If the club thinks they can manage any personal issues he has then I'd do our 1st for Bennell and their 2nd in a heartbeat.

Bennell could be the icing on the cake for our next premiership push, or he could be the stuff up that put us back 3 years.

If he stuffed up, it'd undo all of the hard work our club has done to fix our image and perception of our culture. But, like has been said, he's exactly what we need, and has the potential to be an elite player. Gargantuan risk, ridiculous reward.

I wouldn't want to give up too much, and I don't think we'd need to. GCS want him gone. His recent very good form will have rebounded his value a bit, but I still don't think we'll need to pay a first rounder for him.

We paid a first rounder for a far less talented, Andrew Lovett. Albeit he wasn't a 'known' user of drugs. He did have ALOT of off field issues, and Essendon did want him gone. Harley will cost a team a first rounder, there are no two ways about it. A team like Hawthorn would part ways with their first in a heart beat for Bennell. There is absolutely no way he costs more than pick 15.

Bennell has shown he can be a great player but too many issues for mine. The trade would be too risky and I am pretty sure that we would not give up our first for someone so risky and lets face it that is what he is.

If we trade it would have to be for a certain top 10 player which is what Treloar and Kelly are....

Trout and co have been outstanding, especially last year so I'd like to think they will not make such a risky trade....

Plus Damian B is a flog of the highest order anyway....major tool!!

i agree best case scenario would be pick 6 for bennell and a mid first rounder (they should get one from port for dixon), maybe a swap of second round picks

Our first round pick should be off the table unless, by some chance, Jelly requests a trade. Always take a top 10 pick to the draft and back our elite recruiting team to bring in a 200 gamer.

Bennell is a huge talent but he also has huge issues off field. No way I'd ever include our first round pick for him.
There's only one player we'd consider giving up our top 5 pick for and it's not Bennell.

This should settle the Pick 5 for Bennell theory.

If it's true that both rucks are leaving Brisbane, perhaps the pick we get back from Brissie in a 6 for Bennell and 19 type deal could be used for Carlisle, and our pick 24 ish + hickey for Aish.

Don't think we need to give anything for Carlisle. There's a chance we can pick him up through the PSD.
