Freeman is going to be an absolute jet. Was a real bolter after the combine in a good draft crop. Like Acres, once he gets a good run, he'll explode.. Almost worth a first rounder.
Is this just rumour. I cant see why pies would want or need to trade him.

I guess if Collingwood really do manage to bring in Kreuzer, Aish and Treloar then someone will have to get squeezed out $$-wise

My guess is pies have offered 1 year, he wants 2. I actually feel sorry for him because the pies would be practically impossible to trade fair value for a kid who hasn't played a game, but taken in the 1st round.

Cripps cost us about pick 20 something had good form got us an upgrade to about 45 from pick48 and pick 49 or something shithouse. If a player wants to leave for a destination its hard to get what he's "worth".

I think 8 is a stretch.... He is 27. I think 4 is realistic. Most guys play their best footy 26-29.

That's a fair call, you forget that he never really cemented his spot until he was 23, it could mean that he has a longer career than most. Having said that 8 is a stretch, more likely 4-6 instead of 6-8.

Its a smart move by the Saints chasing Freeman ! Collingwood were so concerned with chasing Treloar and Aish they forgot to secure there own back yard. GWS will want an early pick for Treloar so we will have a strong bargaining position if Freeman nominates us. From what MG is suggesting Freeman is not getting on with someone at the Pies possibly Figjam!

So what would we have to give up to get Freeman? Where would Freeman fall in this years draft probably most like Hopper so perhaps in top 10?

I can see Collingwood wanting a 1st round pick it will be a master stroke to get him for any less!

As for Freeman, at his draft combine he was 2nd in the 20mtr sprint with 2.82s (1st: Marsh 2.78s), and 1st in the repeat sprints with 23.62s (2nd: Marsh with 24.06s).

He was also 10th in both the beep test with 14.10 and the 3km trial with 10m15s.

He's also built like a proverbial masonry lavatory and a lovely user of the ball (with necessarily being elite).

His hamstrings are a genuine concern, but he's EXACTLY what we need.

Is there any interest in Michael Talia out there? Uncontracted Bulldog, 22, 194cm/94kg mobile KPD. Might take a bit to get him away from the dogs though due to his family history there.

Delaney, Goddard, Brown and Talia would give us good KPD depth, at a far smaller price than Carlisle. Thus we can offer some bigger $$ to some elite mids, plus have Pick 5 (or 6 or 7) in the draft, which gives us access to a reasonable midfielder.
