Robbo played forward for Carlton. Are you saying you hate Robbo? For shame.

You knew exactly what I meant and yet here I am having to defend myself while the clique have a laugh at my expense.

In relation to our KPF stocks I think for where we are we might need to try and get a KPF from a top team who can't break into the side. We've all got our hopes pinned on an elite KPF to come like a messiah but I just can't see it happening. Outside of the young KPF's that we have we don't have anything at all. Tim O'Brien at the Hawks or a Liam McBean from the tigers are other options even though I have no clue how they are tracking.

Wot, like Jordon Lisle?

If they're any key forwards who can't break into a top team, they're either not very good or they are no better than what we have already. Lets just play a team with 22 midfielders and a flat ball and we should win every game.

No we don't. I think in time Freeman and Close will get to about Cameron Mooney or Chris Dawes (at his best) level. Which is good enough with the right midfield. And your suggestions from other clubs are strange. We've currently got three young prospects, and you want to add two more with <5 games combined experience? Nah. Back what we have already and have a couple seasoned players (Stakes & McGuane) there to not completely expose our young guys.

Always one, but no. But as I said I can't see an elite KPF coming to us so will have to look at other avenues.

I'd say that picking up Lisle, Paine and Mcguane over the last few years has been evidence of us looking at other avenues such as picking up guys who haven't been able to break into stronger forward lines. Has been a pretty strong fail at this stage. Thats not to say we have to stop trying to grab someone at that sort of level and hoping they come good, just highlights how difficult it really is. Given our ball use and volume inside 50 in recent years its been hard to get a really good gauge though.

It isnt easy to find a top grade KPF. There arent even enough for every team to have one each. We have tried, but just havent hit gold.

Look what the Bulldogs had to do last year to get one with only potential.

I wonder how we would have responded if it had been us who had done the Boyd deal rather than the Dogs ...
I would have been happy with that deal if we had landed Boyd. Absolute monster of a man and have every faith he will become a very good forward.

Reckon Bullies will be happy in the long run. Won't necessarily be good this year or even next tho.

Very true and everything you said I have to agree with. I suppose it shows though that we have to draft them and build them up so hopefully the future is bright with Freeman, Close, McStay and even Hammer. Might have to use this years first rounder on a KPF as well.
