It's about helping us ....the av age of our backline is 76 and we need to sort that NOW !!
Jake is a 23 yrs old 198/100 kg player who can play FWD or back who will help fast track our backline rebuild .
To us he's worth gold .
Also keep in mind from 20 -23 this kids development years have been Severely hampered by the going drug Sarga , plenty of upside here imo

Exactly, you can not judge any Bomber players by their performance over the last couple of seasons. I suspect a fair few have been playing for their pay packet only the last couple of seasons.

I there any chance that WADA can speed things up now that the major obstacle has been removed?

But the likely outcome is he won't play with us for two years. Why not recruit a defender now and once he serves his time make him an offer in two years?

Don't be shocked to see , if found guilty that the players only receive a ban of 4-6 weeks .

:cool::cool:
Why would wada bother wasting their limited budget on 6 week bans? They would be a laughing stock. This case is international news. The world is literally watching. Can't see anything less than a full season ban.
Do you believe that the Major broad cast deal would have been ticked off on without some knowledge of the Essendon out come

I'm not a lawyer, but as far as I can tell there's NO WAY this will happen. They're either found guilty and suspended for a considerable amount of time, or alternatively are free to play.

I'd also suggest that WADA has far more integrity than any of the tribunals this has been through so far and the "strong word" that you may be hearing is based on nothing other than wishful thinking. These guys won't make up their minds until all the evidence is presented.
I'm not sure if you've heard every angle on this so we shall wait and see. I wouldn't dismiss it so easily.

I can't see any reason why they wouldn't insist on 2 years

So I guess getting Carlisle will effectively push Lake out the door. Still think we should be looking for mids at this point, we have a few players with a year or two left in them and no standout replacements are this stage. An Aish or O'meara would be a very good get.
Lake for another year for mine. Definitely!

Thats an impressive CV HD. Hopefully not tainted too much by drug saga.

2 years, anything less is not good enough.
An 18 month ban is essentially one season. I think they will get some time served for missing finals. Not sure if they will give them six months off for it but given the shambolic nature of the club they might just call it 2 years minus 'time served' equals 18 months equals one season plus two off seasons.

You can't get non-sequential suspensions though. Otherwise you could claim they've had 2 year suspensions based on the fact that they didn't play games from Tues-Thurs for the last 4 years.

Eighteen months would effectively be two seasons, given they would not be eligible to do two pre-seasons.

With each year, means less current players will be affected. From memory it is down to about 20 players at Essendon who would be affected. Next season there will be a few more players retire or be delisted from that squad the the effect of a ban is reduced with each passing year.
