jed lamb is a talent, I would of been very happy for North to offer a draft pick just for him. He was squeezed out of Sydney when Buddy came, had a great season that year at Sydney.

Big tall midfielder. 189cm and 85kg. Can play as an inside mid, but has good enough skills to play outside too. Just hasn't had a consistent run at it with injuries.

I don't think he'd really be a perfect fit for us, but maybe the club has another position in mind?

In saying that, I think we've given a lot of players due diligence this trade period, perhaps some who we weren't even interested in. Moore may be one of those...

That is robbery for Menzel. I rate him and I think he would be a quality player in a strong team. Pace and a smooth operator.

Should be fine. Fordham aiming for 10-15 games, Turner 22, Garner 22, Dumont 10-15 games, 2014 recruits possibly 5 games here and there. Pick a couple of decent kids in this years draft if no more trades are done and we will be fine. Media beat up on this issue is ridiculous.

That would be great to happen but very much doubt it - when we lose games brad always drops the young guys.

Spring chickens all of them, none of them will be still playing after 2017. Again problem lies with Swallow who arguably is a one trick pony (maybe he could be a back pocket player if he were to be taken out of the middle) He cant go forward, so its only in the backline for Spitta.
Sure Swallow has attributes way back when all of these young players come to the club worthy to be Captain. He consistantly found the pill whilst our young brigade learned their respective skills ........but now these younger players have 100 plus game experience. Lets be honest here there weren't many people at the club who could have taken over the role.....maybe in hindsight Boomer should have kept the Captaincy.
Swallow's skill set overall combined with his age is less than Bastinac's skill set and his age. I'm highlighting Bastinac age because he could easily play another 8 seasons for the club against Swallow's who say will play another 4 years and who will slowly and naturally give less up to the point of retirement , also Bastinac could play as you said the inside role. Remember Cunnington's output this year was lessened and a byproduct of Swallow coming back from his achillies injury. So as it stands Cunnington and Bastinac are affected by Swallow being in the team and the respective growth curves are being stifled.

Again I give you a sliding doors moment:

If we kept Boomer as Captain, would you have kept Swallow on the list , this isn't a slur on Swallow as a footballer he's solid, finds the pill , courageous and tough. But look at it from a list manager's point of view. Take emotion out of it. And its hard mainly the fact because Swallow is captain.
I'm not saying we should cull Swallow ( normal clubs don't do that ) as it sends the wrong message to the player group as well as the rest of the football industry.

I'm disapointed that we've invested 100 + games ( hindsight my be smart because the father/son) and we all know Basti can play.........and now he is in his best years now and I have no doubt that if he has the opprtunity to play his natural game he'll be an asset to the Brisbane FC.

I think this is up there with one of the stupidest post's i've ever read regarding swallow. To say bastinac is worth more than swallow because he is younger and will be able to play for longer might have some merit if bastinac actually had an output anywhere near swallow's, which he doesn't. People are forgetting that coming back from an achilles tear is possibly the hardest injury to come back from and knowing this, swallow's season this year was more than acceptable. I expect you to be eating your words next season when you see swallow in his prime and back to his best.

I think everything the media is writing about the Trelour and Aish deals are coming out of Collingwood.

Before trade period started we heard the media saying the Trelour deal is already agreed on. And ever since they are saying 2 1st for Trelour and a 2nd. I think that's what Collingwood telling them.

Aish for a future 2nd is what going around the media now but BL are saying a 2nd won't get it done and a player needs to be included.

Well there was mixed messages coming out of the Brisbane camp yesterday. On one hand, Schwab mentioned they they didnt want 2nd round picks but experienced players. On the other hand, Swann said that they didn't want picks this year but future picks.

Your assessment of Harvey straight out of the gates is woeful.

He isnt playing to break the games record, he is playing to win a flag, so no, he wont be retiring when he breaks the games record and nor should he. He still offers to this side something no one else can offer and is still all class with ball in hand. We are simply a much better team with Harvey in it.

Boomer will retire on his terms, not Brads. I would be outraged if Boomer wanted to play on and the club didnt offer him a contract after another good season! The hawks should of thrown Tuck to the wolves as well instead of letting him captain limp into 6 GF wins i guess :rolleyethingy:

Sure re Tuck ,Hawthorn were winning flags, 2014 and 15 gave us nothing and falling just short, tough t***ies.
We can't continue just another year it wont happen IMHO.....if the club thinks seriously we are a chance, then sure keep Boomer. But again I'm sure there will be no signing a renewed contract until after next years trade period is over.

We really need Dumont, BMac, LMac, Wood , Atley , Turner to stand up, even just three of those would be enough.!!

I will tell you makes me worry about that article, 17 players over age of 28 from next season. That is a concern.

But I'm all for a crap 2017 if these players could pull through for a remarkable premiership in 2016.
