Masten just depresses me. We need to purge him off our list to exorcise the draft demons of 2007.

How bad must recruiting departments have been back in 2007 to have him, Morton, Myers and Palmer picked in the top 10 when Dangerfield, Ward, Cyril, Stevens, Walker, Hooker & Taylor all went outside the top 10.

Absolutely diabolical showing for us to land Masten/Ebert/Selwood/Notte with all that other talent around.

I'd like to still have Ebert on the other wing to Gaff, he's got his disposal issues but he's a decent second wingman, a down year last year, but otherwise locked in for 22 touches and a goal every second game.

Masten. Blah. Selwood, was a B&F winner and a decent player, again with disposal issues, before being injured and never fully recovering.

Notte. Should have taken 2 years off professional sport and roided up, before coming back to a level where you could be tested.

nope. the redden/jetta statement preceded that.

waterman counts as a tall. I'd be pretty confident we're bringing in a mid with our first pick.

I disagree. It's just the way it's worded and the past tense that makes it confusing:

"Although we've got some elite talent through the middle of the ground, we probably felt like we could do with an extra couple of players through there that are good ball-winning players who are strong on the inside but also can use the ball well.

We feel like we've added to that department [the midfield] and in the off-season with the injury to Nic and with Scotty Lycett coming back from a PCL we targeted Nathan Vardy as a forward-ruck option and were able to secure that deal as well.

In terms of list need, you're always looking for two, three or four years ahead and we feel like any young tall player that could be added to the list would be beneficial (to replace) a couple of players down the track once they retire."

My reading of it is that they feel they have addressed the midfield shortcomings that they identified in the past, and are now looking to shore up their tall stocks.

It's not exactly a massive secret that we have a gaping JK sized hole coming up in 3 or 4 years and if we can find a young tall forward who would be ready by then, we'd be silly to turn it down. Not at the expense of reaching though. Given what have heard of the draft we may take a bit more of a speculative tall pick with our second pick as lack of genuine tall forwards around pick 12.

Brodie just reminds me of someone like Cunnington, based only on what I've read and seen.

Tough, biggish bodied, one paced, can tackle, no particular dominant attributes or traits. Solid B grade potential.

What am i missing with him?
I guess we have to ask whether our midfield would improve with Cunnington at stoppages instead of Hutchings or Redden.

He's been struggling with injuries for most of the season, however at the start of the season when the AIS were playing against senior teams he really stood out as the best out there (easily). At that time was pretty much guaranteed top 3. I can only assume his drop is to do with others doing well in the latter half and some unannounced injury concerns. Cunnington was never big enough, that was the problem, otherwise he would have been Ziebell.

Brodie could be Patty Cripps in his development...

Only Marshall or Battle loom as KPF 1st Rd picks .

English is tall Dean Cox version and may be available or do they go with Logue as a swingman Fwd/Def if available..

He is one of a few that I would be happy taking. We will get the the option of 1 of Brodie, Scrimshaw, Logue, Berry, etc

Each option will give us favourable attributes. At pick 12 this year, we are not look at a Judd and even Judd would be panned by some for being injury prone, suspect shoulders, etc.

What about Rawlings comments are you disappointed with and that leads you to believe we will overlook Brodie?

Admittedly I didn't listen too hard to what he said because I think a club recruiter is the worst person to speak to if you're looking for a straight answer this time of year
It's mostly re petrie

He's been overtaken by others by injuries not allowing him to take part in the combine etc

PICK 14: WEST COAST — JORDAN GALLUCCI

Clubs: Eastern/Vic Metro

Position: Midfield/Half forward

Size: 183cm, 75kg

Galluci is a player who can impact stoppages, often positively.

Asked if he’s worried about being homesick in Perth, Jordan said he wasn’t as he is an adult male, not a nine-year-old on school camp.

some gold from titus.

Worst case scenario i think cunnington or similar, best case scenario is Kennedy (swans)
