Grand Final Re-Match Hawthorn vs West Coast MCG R2-Sunday
Richmond to play Carlton and Collingwood in the first 2 weeks on Thurs/Fri night
Thursday Night Footy from R13-17- Adelaide to play North Melb at AO in R13
Dogs big rise in prime time footy, apparently we get rewarded and quality over reputation rules the fixture

I like the Thursday slot, but North aren't exactly a Big drawing team...

You will get 50000 on a Thursday night, no matter who we play.

The Roos have drawn huge crowds in the last two seasons at Adelaide Oval -

2014 47,205 Sat night
2015 46,491 Sun Easter

People seem to forget that before we went to Adelaide Oval our biggest crowd for the past 5 years was 50,000 against Essendon in 2009 & we only got 45,000 once in our last 5 years at Football Park (I think).

Most dont realise that apart from home Showdowns we virtually never got over 40,000 to Football Park in the last few years.

So North at Etihad stadium in Round 1.

Should be a good test for Don Pyke and a great opportunity to show us the Crows game style for 2016.

Is it just me or is the rest of Round 1 boring as shit? Playing at ANZ again FFS, Melb hosting the other expansion side at home again and don't get me started on the so called traditional season opener! Good to see Port carrying Easter Sunday though they'll be lucky to get 35,000 to that one! The only game that is remotely interesting in Hawks v Cats.

Again the AFL rewards the perpetual under performers in Carlton and Richmond by giving them the opening round.

Welcome to AFL Logic.

"We're giving Carlton and Richmond the opening round because it's tradition."

"Tradition? Since when?"

"Since we started building it."

Tradition to play in front of a half empty stadium. Muppets.

Be nice to hear some honesty from the AFL just once. "We've got two struggling Vic teams who need a huge boost to stay relevant, so we've given them prime real estate in the fixture to try to drag some of their sorry supporters to watch the footy clubs they claim to idolise."
