Victorians only please. Sick of these mummy boys wanting to go home.

Might look at Tom Wilson (NB Skipper) with a late pick. Would love Hisham Kerbatieh at 48.

Does anyone know how the new Academy points system works, where you apparently can only use as many picks as you have vacant list spots?

GWS have #2 for McGrath, then 15, 37, 39, 45, 52, 55, 57, 58, 59, 60, 77.

Assuming Carlton bid #5 for Setterfield and Sydney bid #10 for Perryman, how do, or can, GWS match them?

Basically, under the revised rules, how do GWS turn that lot of Picks into Setterfield, Perryman and say Macreadie and Sproule?

So they need to enter the draft with 12 list spots available? That's going to be interesting to see who they cut...

ESS - McLuggage
GWS - McGrath
GC - Bowes (after Bris bid)
Bris - SPS/Ainsworth
Carl - Brodie/Taranto

It really feels that way to me too........as I may have mentioned already :)

Wonder whether the guys have settled on the selection yet?
Would love to know the order we currently have......anyone want to break in and take photos of the pinboard?

Either one of Brodie/Taranto would be a good fit for me so i'm not fussed.

My personal power rankings go;

1. McCluggage
2. McGrath
3. Brodie
4. Taranto
5. Bowes
6. Setterfield
7. SPS
8. Scrimshaw
9. Ainsworth
10. Perryman

So if we get either of Brodie/Taranto, i'm stoked.

i was hoping for 13 to get scrimshaw. very underrated. will be a star and what we need. maybe even ainsworth would slip through.

bowes at 5 and gallucci at 25 sounds good to me. jy simpkin at 25 would be a good get

Find it hard to argue against the top 9 at least.
I haven't formed an opinion on Perryman just yet.

Can't see a slider from that grouping though. SPS maybe? Scrimshaw?

Who could break into the top ten though?
English to Freo?
A reach for Venables?
Oliver Florent maybe?
Logue? Surely not.

There will be other possibilities of course but again, it will be interesting

If they are the first 4 picks, SOS will be sacked

you think , i thought i was being generous as those players would be lucky to still be available at those picks. what you got for us ARR0w , lets see your picks

5: Taranto - One touch player that can play inside or outside mid as well as roaming forward. Has great vision, which helps when distributing the ball. Brodie has poor disposal by foot, kicks long but rarely hits targets on a consistent basis. Some say that is irrelevant, as he plays on the inside. His hands aren't that good and border on poor when using the left side of his body. If gone SPS

25: Gallucci, granted his athletic, but I have others ahead of him:

Cox KPD - another one touch player that will play from day one. Reads the ball well and is composed under pressure

Clarke: Inside mid, if you want bang for your buck, much cheaper option than Brodie

SPP: think X-factor, this guy comes to mind. Booming kick, who could be damaging up forward or around the ball

48: Haywood: Athletic forward, that has a good bag of tricks. I believe he will transition to spend some time through the midfield. A true footballer, very smart, reads the fall of the ball, doesn't need many opportunities to hurt you

63: Jye Bolton, won the Sandover, has been in an AFL system and is only 24. If he hasn't been picked up, would be more than happy to add him as a solid body mid
pretty good , definitely shows there real good depth to this draft , i remember watching of Dylan Clarke package and ended up looking up hamish Brayshaw as i thought he looked really nice

Can someone give me the run down on Taranto ? Seems popular around here. I watched a couple videos of his and was really underwhelmed for a potential top 5. He seems to lob his kicks, has some nice inside and outside work but looks to be more a forward flanker with his marking. I'm neither for or against at this stage.

Now that we've got Pickett would we be leaning to Brodie more than Taranto?

Sure he's a good mark but wins a lot of ball in the midfield, kicks goals.
I like him because he's shown a lot of improvement over the year which can be an indicator in draftees that they haven't hit their ceiling yet.

Don't really know the draft beyond the top 30 or so. Who might we look at for 48, 62 and 63?
surely with the late picks we got sos believes there is some real gold there. i hope we use a minimum 5 picks
And 70.

Given Hawthorn's first pick is in the 80s, there's zero reason for us to take the pick if we had no intention of using it. We're going to make six picks.

Might look at Tom Wilson (NB Skipper) with a late pick. Would love Hisham Kerbatieh at 48.
I doubt either one would be in contention for the national draft at this point, but certainly not Wilson and certainly not Kerbatieh at 48.

11, if they forego the pick which is only a slight chance of turning into a few dozen points. They've got four names to go, and only four uncontracted players left.

One of Taranto, SPS or Ainsworth thanks.
I agree.

If we want an inside mid to supplement Cripps (i.e.Brodie), we can easily find that player at 25 with no huge reduction in output due to the evenness of this draft.

Pick 5 should go to someone with some real hurt factor, a silky SPS would be very nice imo. I'm not sure about Brodie's foot skills or the broadness of his game.
