... I don't think anyone has told Ken that they don't have anything to trade (they can't trade their first pick and their 2nd pick is already traded).

Don't think that's the case - think the 1-year future trade rule of either future pick(1) or all other future picks(2,3,...) only applies during the trade period - ie. last Nov they could only trade 2016's(1) or 2016's(2,3,...) - they traded 2016's(2).

But I think in Nov this year, they'll be able to trade any of their remaining picks 2016(1,3,...) The same will apply to 2017 re. future picks.

The thing that will/may impact on them is the "club must use two 1st round picks in every four year period" rule - depends if it applies to seasons before the rule change. If not, then they could trade out their 2016(1) provided they use 1st round picks in 2017 and 2018.

Port are just Tanking now.

Rumour: Boak banged Chad's missus so hard it gave Chad concussion.
He had a fair few issues with concussion in his Sturt junior days, I know the club were very worried.

Bucks on footy classified. Seems pretty impressive as a coach.
Seems is the correct word. Why do you think he still has a job? No one else would survive after what he's done.

It's all well and good to put a good list of younger players together but they haven't been competitive for 5 years now this one included.

Well now we know why Port pulled out of having a womens team. They were afraid the affect it would have on their captain.

Now we know why Port didn't want to have a women's team. They thought it would be too tiring on Boak.

I figured it was because they didnt want their AFL team to be further embarrassed.

Ken stands up , Rucci asks another question

Kens mind is spinning '' can I just leave''

Rucci is a passionate Port man who isn't afraid to ask them tough questions. He was pushing hard for the demise of Primus while also stating that he was never provided the resources required to succeed. If only we had a journalist who supported and wasn't tied to the club with our ambassador status. Perhaps we wouldn't have been able to comfortably roll along achieving nothing on or off field for a decade or so.

Brenton Sanderson mark 2 absolutely.

Beauty is that paps have breakfast tv presenters, politicians and game changing social media people on their board.

No Roo, no Chapman, no one who is in it for more than themselves

Chapman chose his personal reputation over a years worth of draft picks when Trigg threatened to bring the board down with him. His name doesn't belong in that sentence, he was there for a long time and did sweet FA.

They do have two women's teams in the SAWFL this year. There was a forfeit this week as they didn't have enough players I believe in one division and last week my team played against them. With access to all the Port facilities and coaching staff, who do come out to assist at training, they were beaten 142 to 0. Things are not good for any Port team this season.

So - one time in Port's history, Rucci wanted change.

He's also "pushed for change" and undermined our club constantly in that time.

And now? He's doing nothing but fiddling while Rome burns.

You have a ridiculously harsh view of the club. We were flag contenders for most of Craig's time, and innovators in the league. We had three or so down years - Tippett, off-field laziness and Sando - and then we were back as an improving power club again.

Yeah, you have no idea whether that's true.

As far as I'm concerned, Chapman has shown he's a person of substance over the last two years.

Wow!

The Port women's team have the same never give up mentality as their men's team. ;)

Probably just as well AFC won the women's license.

We haven't won it yet. The Port women's club did fold a few years ago because they couldn't pay the fees (when the Power didn't support them even though they were asked). They came back last year but they have been struggling about players actually turning up for games. Hmm that sounds familiar...

The ANZAC Day game was a game of two halves. Collingwood hit Essendon has hard as they physically could in the first half but ran out of legs at half time and from their Essendon were able to even out the game. It was a shit game really. Bucks couldn't take anything out of that game. The only reason he is still a coach was the same reason Michael Voss and James Hird lasted two years too long as a senior coach. Club heroes are almost impossible to sack.

While its not official I think we have won the license. All teams involved probably know they have won the license, its just the AFL will make a huge announcement later in the year. It makes sense rather than adhoc media releases.

Probably right....however you can't generally sack a coach on the back of a 11 goal win. On top of that they are only a couple of wins out the 8. Still too early to know where they stand this year.

No, you never would. I am only suggesting their names give them a bigger grace period. The true test is the next 3 weeks. If they lose all those games bucks has to be in serious trouble.

I don't judge him on what he says about our club, he hates us as a Port man. He's not afraid to ask tough questions of his club and he'll ramp up if he feels that they're on the wrong path and they're not changing tack.

Trigg took over an AFL powerhouse and it ran it into an also ran. 3 years of "laziness" is a ridiculous claim, our downward financial trend spcompared to the rest of the comp was not a 3 year outlier. Craig had a couple of good years, having started with a bang, going 1, 2 in his first 2 years at end of minor round. But then he went 8,5,5,11,14,17 and in reality we were never really building anything, just plodding around driving to make the 8 and hoping that the cards fell our way. Off field was a disaster and you shouldn't let our current turnaround affect your view on the way the club performed under the Trigg regime. By the end of the Sando regime we'd played finals once in 6 years, the fabled Sando spike.

What's occurring now is great, we have a superb CEO who appears intent on success and is prepared to fight the good fight where necessary. I could barely be happier, but that doesn't change the past.

I don't care what you think, I trust the person who told me as he is mates with a current board member. Of course you consider the penalties befitting of the crime and I'm sure that as soon as Chappy releases his strongly worded retort to Vlad for being a smug turd, it'll all be cleared up. Chapman was the front man at a time of disaster. It's not uncommon and I'm yet to see a person in his position, politician or otherwise, fail the test. I don't judge him for being somber and well spoken throughout the Walsh tragedy, I judge him by how our club has performed financially and on field throughout his tenure and specifically upon the worst of his actions.
