According to the west has a gbh charge and his next court date is 2 weeks before the draft. He'd be very lucky to even get a rookie spot with that hanging over his head

Pickett in his highlight tape reminds me of how SPS has been playing this year . He reads the play well but is not super quick, he is not an elite kick , he's not strong in contests and is easily moved off the ball .There are better options.

Better options in regards to Pickett or SPS?

I don't see the problem with either if they are cheap. We are getting rid of roughly 10-12 players so we can't just bring in 10 draftees.

Petrevski-Seton is only a slight build though and it isn't unusual for an 18 year old to need to put on more size. He has class and is excellent in tight spaces. I am sure anyway that he will be better than Powell-Pepper.

SPS seems pretty strong in the contest to me. He looks a bit bigger this year and that's why maybe he doesn't look as quick and Pickett's strength seems to be his pace? I agree that SPS' kicking isn't elite but he's an elite decision maker and being able to work off both feet is a major weapon.

We'd be better of taking late draft picks/rookies, neither of these players are ever going to be more than depth. Shouldn't be picking up more list cloggers after we've just got rid of a whole lot

Doesnt have the athleticism. This guy's 15/16 have been dredful. His 14 was average. Hasnt played well since 2013, thats when we went for him and he said no. Theres better talent in the wafl.

Some of the best kicks in the league have come from the rookie list. Look no further than last weeks Norm Smith Medalist for a start. The dogs actually had quite a few players who started out as rookies playing last weekend. Dahlhaus, JJ, Morris, Boyd, Picken, Biggs for a start. If fully fit and eligible to play both Suckling and Crameri make that best 22, maybe even Redpath as well. We aren't just talking about role players/bottom six types. The first two would be in the top 5-6 for kicking at the dogs, as would Suckling.

Black to freo isn't happening, his manager said that Black and North have agreed to part ways and several clubs were interested

Then got asked if Freo were on of the suitors and he said that Freo have had their eyes on other targets but seeing as a couple of them fell through yesterday they my get in contact with freo and ask the question.

In other words they haven't talked to Freo and Freo haven't talked to them but they may get in contact now seeing as Hogan and Lobb fell through, more then likely Black goes to one of the other clubs that they have been in contact with, you wouldn't tell North you were parting ways without another club being keen on you.

Port have been keen on him all year, Black had a 'reasonable' year with Werribee, he kicked 31 goals from 17 games, which is about 1.8 goals per game. Due to the injuries to our main team, it left our Werribee side often fairly weak. I still think he will be a pretty good medium/tall forward, he just is a low priority for us given we will push with Brown/Daw/Wood/Waite next year and are still developing first round pick KPFs in Durdin and McKay. I think he will do okay when he gets back into AFL level, he is too talented for the VFL. He just isn't a FF.
