So we want to look at getting back into the first round
OK, so we know the top 8 is where the skill is at...so If we could pull that off we would be chasing picks lower than that
Then one we can all see is that pick six
There is only one way to get pick six
We have to trade someone, or one of the first rounders plus someone
So it's either a good player goes, and there's been talk about armo for ages or a fringe player like eli or shenton plus one of next year's first.
I'd rather the future pick goes and we keep armo....I reckon we can be fighting for a flag while he is still running about.....hell I reckon we could be fighting for a flag with roo and Joey
I also think unless roo and Joey get major injuries or completely drop off next year that both sill be going around again in 2018

Rockliff...massive pass
If the rumors are true about his stupid initiations for some younger players I'm happy to let him rot up north
Would u see roo doing shit like that??
Where there's smoke there's fire, I don't care how good u are if your own team is trying to flog u off and you're the capt it speaks volumes.

Lewis to Dees. Definitely improves the Dees.

Does this mean the Hawks fall out of the 8?

Let's hope so! Still believe the Hawks are a damn strong club but some very strange moves over the last week the actually reeks of desperation to be on the top.

Mitchell and Lewis out leaves a big gap do not think Mitchell, Vickery and maybe O'meara replaces that

Even losing the players they have I'd still place them in the top 8, their list is still better than most. The question is has the rift created by throwing out Mitchell for a 3 piece feed upset other stalwarts of the club apart from Lewis?

I think there's now chinks in the Armour over at the hawks, blood can be smelled

Hawks definitely drop out of 8 for mine. Been a disaster for them. Well atleast we should all hope they do!

I know we can't win them all but I really wanted to trump North for Ahern. That is basically getting him for free...

The way I read it:

You either get back into the top 6 so that you can grab one of the 6 elite kids.

Or

You move up the order to give you a better shot at a specific player you rate.

The latter is really a roll of the dice because you can only speculate if said player will be available.

On that basis, if you want a shot at the top 6 then you have to give to get. This may or may not involve a popular player. High cost - high reward.

For the latter, the risk of getting who you want is higher, so you'd want to give away least as possible.

Looking at him I can see why we didn't go after him. Got a fair mug on in! Probably wouldn't be used in any merchandise or calendars that's for sure

Can only assume we decided we don't want him.

And our blokes haven't got too much wrong in recent times so I'm comfortable with that.

I think a lot here are undervaluing Armo and his importance to us. He is a 28 year old mature body, reliable, not prone to injury and sets a graet example. The next oldest in our midfield is Steven and he is not a strong body type.

To me, if Saints trade period ends today we are way ahead and in a great position at next years table. We have filled the glaring list gaps - KPD, midfield depth and we are banking on improvements from most of our class of 2013 - 15.

Right now I would prefer to go with what we have and have a crack at a Fyfe or Martin at the end of 2017.

I think Vickery will surprise. They got him to fill a specific need in their structure.

They missed both Roughie and Hale this year.

The question mark for them will be their midfield.

Vickery will be getting cold sitting at FF as the opposition inside mids continually pump the ball forward.

No Lewis, No Mitchell, No Hill, No Shiels*, No Whitecross*, No Hartung*, Hodge & Burgoyne on last legs.

Poor Titch!!

Am I the only one sick of hearing people singing Hawthorns praise for the way they've 'phased' our Lewis & Mitchell?
There would be a witch hunt had any other club traded out their 5x B&F alongside their VC, 2016 Runner-Up and Captain in waiting.
Here's hoping for they slide their way into the bottom third.

We are Definitely winning the trade period, got what we have needed for quite a while, listening to trade radio is really making it hard for me to do housework.

Lewis to the Dees will have alot of people rating them ahead of us, I don't mind that. We'll just fly under the radar as per usual and collect our annual 8 pts from them.

Honestly, Lewis to the Dees MIGHT give them the edge over us for next year. Dees are chocked full of talent, just need some belief and consistency which they started to build last year. I expect to see them in 7th or 8th next year, somewhere right beside us.

If we move one of our 1sts from 2017 it will be our pick, not the Hawks, I believe.
