The idea behind trading future picks is you want the buyer to expect a greater gain than you deliver. If Gold Coast think our next years first will be somewhere between pick 4-8 they may say that is a great deal and send back a second pick this year. We may make finals and then we win that part of the trade.

The other thing to consider is Gold Coast may place an extra 25% value on the pick if they know they have a gun academy kid next year and they want to either take them with that pick or take them with their own pick and use the other pick.

I highly doubt it will happen, but the risk is there which is why trading future picks is a bit silly and too much of a gamble

I don't understand the mentality that because we plummeted in one season means we are certain to plummett furthur.

Team performance can fluctuate, its not always as simple as "team A is going up" and "team A is going down"
I am saying this simply because we seem to have holes all over the ground right now that I am not sure will fix in one offseason.

So, I feel like there is still a chance of falling further next year, resulting in a higher pick. Very risky to give away 2017's first pick with a list looking like ours at the moment.

Oh Dear!

Brisbane great Alastair Lynch believes Richmond should strongly consider trading for Lobbe. (would rather a Lobb not a Lobbe).
“He’s got an enormous amount of talent,” Lynch told Fox Sports News Rush Hour.

“There are number of clubs that need ruckman. Probably the biggest one is Richmond footy club. Lobbe would be a good recruit.”
Lobbe was drafted with pick No.16 in 2017 and has played 92 games for the club since debuting in 2010.
He struggled with a knee injury this year, playing just three senior matches.

What are the best twitter account to follow for trade news?

Jay Clark IMO. He was reliable for Richmond last season. I think he knows someone at the club.

Damian Barrett on the other hand you will find hiding in clubs' dumpsters scouring through old paperwork to brew up some abortion of a rumour.

Barret seems to make things up hoping they come true so he can claim it.

Like the Essendrugs scandal. Broke that story. Kind of indebted to him for that one at least, all of us, I'd say.

Do you always talk out your ass or just now ?
