I'm aware length was different but it has been reported Wells only got 500k a year so 1.5mil. Essentially the same value, except Vickery is a 26yo restricted FA and Wells is a 32yo unrestricted FA. There should be a big difference in compensation. End of second round at the least.

Didn't Suckling get a similar deal to Wells but Hawthorn only got end of second round compo?

From what i heard a couple years back Cotch doesnt socialise with the rest of the playing group. Lids always has hung out with the players at cafes etc. I used to work at two different cafes where most of the players went.
Also a former player said not alot of players like Cotch.
Now if i read between the lines (and i could be way off) Lids and Cotch arent too close.
Add to that Hardwicks utter devotion and love for cotch and there could be a little too much favoritism there. Maybe even jealousy.
I know it pissed me off all year when the media asked what dimma thought of dustys performance and he responded with how much he love cotchins game.

Yet the players have continually voted for cotchin for captain.lol

A fit Lids owns that list, but in 2017 if thats how it happens, i think we look a better side and quite comfortably better.

Martin, Cotchin, Prestia, Caddy is a reasonable starting 4.

Martin the star....Cotch to get back to that level...Prestia a consistent gun and Caddy potential but worst case plays the bigger body role.

Then we need a couple of C.Ellis/Menadue/Markov/McIntosh to start stepping up.

Both similar age, both out of contract, Mitchell is a proven gun, but yet the AFL world believe we need to pay a premium because we're Richmond. I'm so angry. We better not do it.

pick 6 - we keep it and the franchises know they are going to have to pay a fair price for academy picks . They get us out of the first round and they can pretty much take academy selections where they feel.
they want us out of the first round they should be made pay for it.
prestia and what ever are necessary to get nankervis , caddy and rockcliffe.
play hard ball , as us having 6 is far more than than just the player we could take at 6.
