I hear what your saying but just to correct you a little - Patful has gone.

Clubs must make at least two first-round selections in each four-year period. If they don't, they will face restrictions from trading any further first-round draft picks.

So if afl has approved cats to move next year's pick for thouhy it must be because they think it's coming back

To Carlton for thouhy
To gws for Marchbank
To Richmond for lids
Back to Geelong for Caddy

Therefore not breaking the rules

Hope Emma Quayle is right though and it's pick 24

Thats not what i was hearing last week, you guys were all saying caddy is better than lids and all this stuff. I haven't really seen much of him, is his kicking bad?

He's been playing out of position at Geelong.

He's an inside beast - a see ball, get ball type. But then has the ability to go forward and get on the scoreboard. He's not quick at all and he's been asked to play more outside at Geelong which hasn't been great for him.

Pick 24 or 27 is a good deal for us.

I don't want to intrude but there are a lot of you guys on our board at the moment.
Caddy is hugely overrated. When you see his bad decisions and turnovers you will hate him as much as I do.
Can't be as bad as Geelong's decision to hand over a future first for Touhy

I can't see the Cats agreeing to let Caddy go for got a pick in the 20's, doesn't sound right. He's contracted and a former pick 7. It will be the pick we receive for Lids or gtfo surely?
It seems like he wants to come to us, what ive heard is we are haggling over giving pick 24 or 27. Either of which is a good deal for us

Agree matey.
It's clear a lot of people have seen all of six minutes of Geelong's 24 games this season.

AFL Trades 2016: Deledio to Giants, as Tigers move on Caddy

Published: October 19, 2016 - 8:19PM

Richmond are confident of prising Josh Caddy from Geelong and will send star veteran Brett Deledio to Greater Western Sydney for a future first-round pick on the final day of the trade period.

Hours after the Tigers secured Dion Prestia from Gold Coast, their vice-captain Deledio agreed to join the Giants on a three-year $1.5million deal.

Deledio flew to Sydney on Wednesday to tour the club and meet the coach, football staff and doctors. He was contracted to Richmond for next year on about $800,000.

Caddy appears destined to join the Tigers on the final day with the Cats and Tigers haggling over whether the deal will be done for pick 24 or 27.

The Giants had been labouring under a tight salary cap but the move of Jack Steele to St Kilda and the likely trades of Caleb Marchbank and Jarrod Pickett to Carlton will open up sufficient space to accommodate the veteran Tigers player.

Acquiring Deledio means the Giants will have a more urgent need to trade the well-paid Will Hoskin-Elliott to Collingwood.

The Giants' move came as the Suns and Hawthorn remained in a bitter stand-off over Jaeger O'Meara, with the Suns rejecting the Hawks' final offer of picks 10 and 48 for the midfielder.

Gold Coast chairman Tony Cochrane said Hawthorn had "promised [O'Meara] the world but they're only going to hand him an atlas".

If neither side blinks in trade talks on Thursday, O'Meara could enter the national draft on nominated contract terms (at least $700,000 a year) and Hawthorn would seek to draft him with pick 10. The Suns, however, have three picks before Hawthorn in that draft, and could choose to re-draft him before the Hawks get the chance.

They are also set to trade for Adelaide onballer Jarryd Lyons, who on Wednesday said he wanted to play for the Suns.

Meanwhile, Carlton and Geelong have agreed in principle on a trade that will see Zach Tuohy join the Cats for Geelong's future first round pick and Billie Smedts.

An exchange of later draft picks would also be involved.

The trade emerged after the Cats were surprised to be given AFL permission to trade a second future first round pick in two years.

All clubs – including Geelong – believed the Cats would be precluded from trading another future first round pick given that they had last year traded out of this year's first round.

The Cats will need to trade two first round selections back in next year, or be restricted from trading any further first round picks for two years.

The Cats last year traded their first round pick to Adelaide for Patty Dangerfield (along with pick 28 and Dean Gore). They moved this year's first round pick to Carlton for Lachie Henderson.

The Blues will look to pass on Geelong's future first round pick to GWS for Caleb Marchbank in a standalone trade that means they will not need to wait on receiving pick 13 from Adelaide for Bryce Gibbs in order to do the deal.

The Blues and Crows were in a stalemate over Gibbs with Carlton insisting on two first round picks for the player who has three years to run on his contract. Carlton indicated last night it was more likely that Gibbs would remain at Princes Park.

Carlton will trade picks 45 and 55 for Jarrod Pickett and the Giants' pick 58. Pickett was pick 4 in the 2014 draft but has not played a senior AFL game at the Giants in two seasons.

The trade will mean the Giants have this year traded out three top 10 picks from the 2014 draft – Pickett, Marchbank and Ahern.

The Bulldogs have agreed to trade Nathan Hrovat to North Melbourne for a swap of third and fourth round picks in next year's draft. Hrovat had also attracted the interest of Carlton.

The Eagles and Geelong will work to do a deal for ruckman Nathan Vardy who has asked for a trade west, while Essendon and GWS will work a trade for forward James Stewart.

Swans ruckman Toby Nankervis has joined the Tigers on a three-year deal in exchange for pick 46.

The Tigers have re-signed Reece Conca on a two-year deal.

Two things then - how was he worth Delidio and a second rounder according to many cats fans? and
- can you still see your keyboard through those bitter tears?
