If I have this right, then people are expecting Doedee, Keath, Galluchi, Poholke, Milera to all play a significant amount of games next season, and Signorello to play a few as well. That's after fitting Gibbs into our team and discounting the possibility of pick 12 being a ready-made player. That's a lot of new faces in a side that ran 2nd and won the minor premiership last season. Who do they replace?
I'm not knocking any one of those players as they are all good value, although there are question marks in my mind whether or not Milera wants it badly enough.

Doedee replaces Leaver
Gallucci replaces Cameron
Milera replaces Mackay (hopefully)

I can't see Keath or Poholke getting significant games barring injury. Poholke seems to be competing with Douglas, Knight, Greenwood, who I don't see him overtaking next year.

I went with Brad Crouch. A full preseason would work wonders, and he was absolutely killing it late last season. I was reading the WCE board the other day, and statistically, going by games played, Brad was in the top 8 mids in the competition. Imagine what he could do with an truley consistent run at it...

BTW, here is a footywire comparison which may be of interest. I wonder if anyone can tell me who the two players are...

Shows we pass judgements on players too early ...... I’ve been watching some early games from this year & Mileras ability to sidestep and cut thru traffic, thus opening up the field ahead is elite .... just needs experience and greater fitness

Exactly. While I agree with people that say Milera needs to harden up at the contest and what not, the people that hang shit on him constantly are way out of line. Allow him to develop and things could very well all fall in to place. Hopefully the early Burgoyne comparison calms a few jets that're writing him off.

Thanks for the thought. Couldn't get either to work. I know what you mean having seen him a few times in the 2s. He tackles hard and well.
Bumma - they're mpg video files on a google site, probably need to download first - I'm trustworthy :$

Can you try these (slightly different) links? [1 ~3.3MB], [2 ~17MB]

Whatever I do, it comes up as one large music note and nothing else.
Don't know if this helps, but i am using Safari on a Macbook. If I click on the link it opens a blank Google page with this message:

Click here to download your attachment.
It downloads the file and opens as a mpg file (video). It'd be interesting to know if you can open it here?

worked for me as well and I use google

I think Milera will be up there in the most improved. He needs to take some more angry pills because he has a few weapons that can hurt the opposition (speed, kicking efficiency, good goal sneak).

As for the untried players, looking forward on seeing more of Doedee, Gallucci and Polholke.

i personally think brad crouch will become the elite player he was destined to be.
one a side note aim excited to see how davis is going to turn out, have heard some big raps on him for a late draft pick.

If Brad can remain injury free across the preseason and actually hit round 1 fit and raring to go, he'll be a vastly different player to that we've seen he last couple of years. We saw snippets last year, but last year was more about getting some game time and consistency.

Wayne was always going to take a little time, needed to develop fitness and some muscle to withstand a full season. His ceiling is massive if he can get it right, needs to get supremely fit this preseason so he can get to more contests and have energy left over to take the opposition on when he does have the footy.

I gotta say the biggest surprise for me thus far is Knight on 0 votes.

This is a big preseason for Riley, the honeymoon period is over, he has talent and does some good things, but needs to start doing more of it or he'll quickly find himself relegated to SANFL. Guys like Milera, Gallucci, Hampton and Poholke will be snapping at his GF spot, certainly hasn't cemented his spot in the side by any imagination.

Oh well, probably need to use a PC to download them.

Anyways, first clip is of The Sig tackling and stopping a bigger looking Port player with no hesitation and second clip is of The Toump lining up The Sig after a long chase of Bonner and The Toump coming off fifth best :D

Correct ! .....where was Tex Walker in his 2nd season

Looking at some Poholke highlights the club has posted up, he reminds me a bit of Jimmy Bartel.

Does anyone else see it or am I smoking the peace pipe?

Doedee or Keath will get a go in Lever's spot
Milera or Gallucci will get a go in CC's spot
The person who voted Mackay is taking the piss.

I voted The Mighty Thor. With another preseason he will be a beast next season.

You are more likely to win powerball tonight than that happening.
I don't know, quite a few senior blokes were back early last year.

As for most improved, I went with Milera because if he is, it will take us a long way to redeeming ourselves in September.

Harry Dear had such a poor season this year that for him to make the best 22 in 2018 would have him taking our this trophy easily.

The fact he is still on the list means someone has not given up on him just yet. But surely he must hit the track hard this pre season and start dominating at SANFL level as he did a number of times in his first year.
