Great, one good season. Should we just pick him no matter what now? Does he now have a license to play like crap and get picked every week? And one has won a best and fairest...

Completely agree, I hope the Dogs winning the flag has finally convinced Scott that speed, versatility, and an ability to be quick on the outside while also tough in the contest is what wins you flags now, not slow lumbering height.
Catsmaninamerica I reckon you'll be able to hear jaws hit the floor from the Blitz haters when he's inevitably and deservedly picked in the senior side in 2017. A loud thud.
He'll be selected. What they do with Stanley and Smith remains to be seen. Blicavs will get selected. Not if he's selected with only one other ruckmen. I'd applaud the decision.

Imo that's more problematic with the defence.Yeah I think he will regardless of what happens. My biggest gripe isn't actually him it's the structure of the team being too tall in general.
level of expectations....Not sure what that has to do with their mutual poor performances in the blue and white?
You're right, it's more like 25.
This is how I see our ruck department.Imo that's more problematic with the defence.
With the 3 rucks and no sub rule. One usually rests forward and whilst others don't I personally rate Blicavs defensive attributes highly, now of course if we abandon our zone set up then he loses that positional role and has lost his 3rd man up role but I still believe he's the better no.2 ruck out of him and Stanley.
Another key change I'm keen to see is that now 3rd man up is gone we'll not have -1 at the contest so often so we may do a bit better still in clearances with even numbers at the contest. Remains to be seen though.
Every spot in the forward line bar FF I reckon.Anyone expect to see a debutant in round one? Maybe Parfitt or Cunico? I reckon there's a FP or HFF spot up for grabs.
I hope not because it probably means we have a few injuries on our hands.Anyone expect to see a debutant in round one? Maybe Parfitt or Cunico? I reckon there's a FP or HFF spot up for grabs.
I made the comparison about the way they play - not expectations.level of expectations....
You made the comparison not me.
Go Catters
Are you serious? I'd love to see more than a few kicked out of our side from the Prelim, we already have to replace Caddy...I hope not because it probably means we have a few injuries on our hands.
What do you base that on? Take a look at his Prelim performance or entire second half of the season and point out any two performances in a row that justify him being in our team?inevitably and deservedly picked in the senior side in 2017.
...and Enright. Are you serious? I'd love to see more than a few kicked out of our side from the Prelim, we already have to replace Caddy...
Yep, two changes - that should turn our fortunes around....and Enright.
With Tuohy and hopefully Menzel.
Based on prelim aye.... if we based it solely off the prelim 18 blokes would be dropped. What do you base that on? Take a look at his Prelim performance or entire second half of the season and point out any two performances in a row that justify him being in our team?
One of which being Hawkins so grain of salt and all that jazz. Are you serious? I'd love to see more than a few kicked out of our side from the Prelim, we already have to replace Caddy...

I don't base my assessment of Blicavs on disposal stats, he performs a role defensively in our structure and is a better 2nd ruck than Stanley
Do not agree. Key piece in the defensive zone last season. Was underwhelming last year from a defensive stand point.
The problem for Blicavs is he often looks like a lost sea gull as he doesn't appear to be a very good reader of the play. He will follow his opponent like a shadow and they end up getting the ball and getting it away while Blitz notches up another tackle to add to the stat sheet but he's not as effective (defensively) as what you think he is.
A player like Ben Jacobs is what you want Blicavs to be as he is constantly positing his body right in the spot where the midfielders wanna be.
