Nah not directly out of there but I thought it was pretty well known they're into him and he was apparently a massive Dogs diehard growing up so I'm sure they'd love to grab him, confident enough on the mail for the picks up until ours though to say that's what'll happen.

If we use up our top 10 picks on a half back and a forward, I'll be pretty annoyed, we need gun outside mids, don't we?

Realistically if we grab an outside mid the chances of them playing and having a real impact next year is pretty slim.

We need elite talent, you get that by picking best available in the top 10 and not reaching. For all of his hate, Hartung would be the biggest production draftee of any we get next year if we get him (for immediate impact - not to say I'm desperate for him). But that's only because he has been in the system four years.

The other thing to consider is that if we grab players who aren't pure mids, it could mean we are confident on getting a free agent midfielder or two at the end of next season.

D-Fog sure would be interesting. Don't see us pairing him up with Coffield tho, as it would be hard to find spots for both in the backline any time soon and I don't see room for Fogarty forward.

Best position may indeed be forward, but if we already have Paddy, Bruce and Membrey up there I believe it would make us too top-heavy to add a big 192cm lump without great speed or tackling like him up there with them. Teams could have a field-day running it out of there.

It's not like adding someone like Stephenson or Bonar, who have elite speed are are terrific with their tackling, who would add to our forward half pressure, along with being scoring threats.

At our club I imagine he'd start off by playing the Lever type intercepting role down back and hopefully work into the midfield from there. Somewhat like BJ did back in the day.

And most have questioned his ability to play midfield. He’s not played there a lot.

For those worried about not getting mids with Stephenson and Coffield:

What if instead of describing them as half-forward and half-back flankers we called them "Attacking and defensive wingmen"?

We arent getting another Membrey or another Gilbert. Instead we are getting another Acres and another Newnes, both with slightly different skillsets to their current Saints counterpart.

seems to have a knack of picking out the best target with no time or space. tells me he knows the scenarios before he gets the ball

A lot of people saying we will go coff and Clark. Tbh would be severely underwhelmed if we went this way. We address our problem of speed and class with coff so we should just take best available or highest upside/ X factor risk. While I do think Clark will be a good player don’t think he is xfactor/ best available and I don’t have an clue where him and coff will fit in our midfield...

I’ve heard mixed messages we are interested in him but I doubt we would let him slip past as he would be best avaiable at 7&8 unless his heart issues were that concerning to our staff

Maybe it’s more serious then led on by his mananher

Yeh imo Fogarty will be a better utility however bonar will be a better midfielder- his athleticism and strength just screams fyfe

The only way that I could not be upset if we overlook steohenson is if we instead take a top 5 slider or bonar

In reality I think the draft profiles are a pile of chite..they are so hit and miss!
Having said that can't wait to see who we pick up in the draft on Friday!

If Coffield is there I think we will take him. No idea on Pic 8

Have you seen Dow's explosion from the contest & ball use at full tilt? Cerra's elite disposal off both pegs in traffic? Brayshaw's fast & clean hands?

Seen all that just wasn’t super impressed. Still rating these guys at top 10 don’t forget. Reason I use vanilla is if you compare most years top 10 fancies and then look at these three.. vanilla. A great example is to re watch older top 10 draft profiles. Hell even take a look at gresh’s package from his draft year - I’d take gresh qbove all three of them in a heart beat. Dow is the best of the pack but really haven’t seen much of this explosion from te contest in his films. we’re talking top 10 talent here! As for Brayshaw’s fast and clean hands - not sure that’s enough to be a 1-6 talent. And disposal quality for Cerra.. Coffield has him more than covered...

Am I going crazy here? These three just don’t even seem in the same league as LDU, Rainer, Steph, Coffield, Bonar???
