Mountford is a gun!
He interests me, but why did he only play 51% of the first two JLT games and then not play the third, which is when most teams were fielding what they thought would be their round 1 team?

His JS scares me massively compared to the other rookies I currently have on the pine.

ATM, it looks like I don't have to make a corrective trade...so if i have to make one, i am not concerned. That's why i am willing to give this kid a crack.

Starting on the field, hoping for a SPS first half and then smooth sailing

I was told he sat out so other players coming back could get a run and he was chopped.
He seems like gold but I fear it will not end well. Highly rated. I just can't pick him.

Backman Kyle Cheney experienced hamstring soreness at training on Thursday and was unavailable for selection. He will be further assessed in the coming days.

Better prospects for Otten

Hibberd or Smith for short-medium JS? Hibberd may be threatened by Wright, and Smith by Frost/Hibberd (especially when St. Kilda are going tall) although he is rated by the Dees?

I'm having the same dilemma. However Hannan didn't play any JLT. Played a VFL practice game and an intra. Was coming off a shoulder injury.
I'm struggling to find a reason to pick Hannan without seeing him play. At this stage I'm thinking Houston.
Hannan's JS suspect I would have thought, but he was selected without playing any JLT so Goody must rate him.

I think you're underestimating Kent there. He's best 22 every week when fit. He'll probably play next week as well as Tyson. I'm not convinced on Hannan JS but agree Houston is risky to. I'm still unsure who I'll go.
100% agreed.

Who cares about JLT? It means absolutely jack shit who plays what and how much time. It's a practice match. Absolute fools gold. Plenty of players didn't play JLT3 and have been selected for Round 1.

Thinking of getting Balic in place of Montford who seems to have iffy js and switching him to the fwd line for this rnd so I can get Butlers score to count.

Freo supporters in particular, is Balic likely to get a game soon and decent run?

He is also a good loophole option but I have never really liked that strategy always preferred to have the cash generation going.

Feedback appreciated.

Had a great WAFL game against East Perth but needs to build fitness from most accounts and not best 22 material; an optimistic view would have him breaking in to the side mid-year I believe :)

So a player named on the field concerns you, but a rookie who never played before, and plays under ross the ****ing boss...seems like a good option?

Haha just leaving no stone unturned. Thanks for the wake up call though.

Mostly due to fitness issues. Was he injured? We are going to have to agree to disagree on your comment. Yes it's a practise match. Yes it's fools gold, but unless your name is Ross Lyon it's the best time to play all your rookies/ first year players as much as possible if you think they are a chance to make the best 22. Do you have him?
