if Constable slides, you'd reckon it's more than his recent terrible testing. From people who watched the champs, I can't remember any queries about him running out games. In fact there was people gushing over how he could keep playing through injury and still make an impact.

Cal twomey out with his mock top 30. Let's just say it's basically a worst case scenario for west coast. Clark and Higgins long gone, end up with Allen.

21 is stoddart to fill our gaping hole at half back.

26 is callum Coleman jones to address our need for key forwards

Why do people keep running with this notion that Rawlings is starting to call the shots and that's why it's all going to be fine?

Also, address needs? You say that as though we haven't picked a midfielder with just about every first pick we've had since 2006.

I would suspect that Clark is off to the saints so won't last to 13, which would effectively mean the genuine A grade rated midfielders in this draft would be gone by then.

However O'brien's name keeps popping up with us linked to him. Yes he's an outside midfielder, and has no outside game, but has a good kick and likes to take the game on with his elite running capacity. Although his game is outside- he's not soft. A lot like gaff- plays to his strengths which is his outside game for now.

It's probably unlikely he makes our 2nd pick. Would you prefer we take Obrien the midfielder or go with Allen who may turn into a midfielder? Curious to know who people would prefer?

It's interesting- yes we have some needs to fill this year- but I think recruiting an inside mid just for the sake of recruiting one will do us more harm long term.

Stephenson is A grade.

So is O'Brien and L Fogarty IMO.

Twomey is usually very good with top 10-12 picks and is usually 80%-90% correct but after that he falls away as he relies strictly on industry sources for his information.

In drafts the top 10 are usually made up of about 12-15 kids and by the last day of draft information leaks out and people talk.Players,Family,Managers,Clubs,Recruiters etc and information is easier to get - Thats why Emma Quayle & Cal Twomey have had good strike rates

Top 10-12 picks usually go to plan and easier to predict but as the drart goes into double digits 1-2 players getting selected early or later due to sliders or players that fit club needs get picked up it gets scewed.

He has Richmond getting
#17 - Stephenson - (would be a miracle to go past GWS/Adelaide)
#20 - Brander - Very much been on the cards due to our needs and other clubs having more important options
#25 - Sam Hayes ( Richmond need a ruckman,Hayes is the best junior ruch and touted top 5 pick earlier in the year so places him here)

Most Junior watchers have said all year that Naish isnt a top 20-25 pick and we all had him around #30 most of the year due to not having an inside game and his size as well as his pace is good but not elite and d/e ration - But Twomey had him at #12

Having said that, it would be like us to pick someone fitting that description.

If the others are gone and Stephenson is there we shouldnt hesitate. Look at the kids running testing in speed and endurance. He plays forward but is transitioning into the middle. At worse he ends up like a Hurn, initially hoped to be a big mid but his body couldnt train hard enough to build the endurance so instead plays as a gun half back.

A top 5 pick falls into our lap without a tent in site.

32. Worpel
37. Moore / Starcevich
67. Ryan / Garlett / H Brayshaw / Scloithe

I have noticed that Constable and Worpel are listed a few times in the last few pages but IMO Wce only requires one of these players not both for balance to the list ..

Best post of this entire thread. Starcevich is a spud do not want. When you can get a player like Moore or Worpel for the same pick its not even a consideration

Stephenson is A grade- The heart issue is a bit of a delicate situation (ie how often are clubs getting serious legal advice prior to drafting a kid)

I hope that a slider will be available at pick 21. It seems like a good pick for one to possibly be there. Don't know if Bailey would be considered one now if he did. Otherwise, maybe someone like Allen, Brander or O'Brien.

No idea who will actually be available at pick 13 and 21, but both picks should be mainly be about getting the best available players. Simmo have said it's what they are aiming to do, so hopefully they will keep to it.
