I disagree and think two stoppers means our mids are forced to get further back to defend and attack from defence...that wears us out and leaves us more vulnerable to fade outs. I'm obviously alone in my opinion but I'm thinking it's an issue along with poor conversion from forwards as well as injury to key mids.

A new franchise like GWS craves respect from their football peers. They know they will lose some elite talent, the smart clubs will deal courteously and confidentially.

GWS doesn't like a club like North leaking to the media that they intend to recruit one of their best young players on a huge long term contract during the season. I'd be ropable if another club did that to us. It is disrespectful and intended to destabilise.

If Kelly wants to return to Melbourne to play his football there is one less club that can win his services.

So you are basically blaming everything that has gone wrong on Brown and Carlisle. Seems reasonable.

Should probably add Moorabbin being delayed, the continued alignment with Sandy and Trump being elected to your list.
 
I dont buy into the theory of " Cant defend " .
Its built into everyone , every day of our lives is a fight to defend something or someone .
I prefer to target motivation to WANT to defend .

Not yet but he's on the rise. Dusty is top 3 in the AFL this year and I reckon Kelly is pushing top 25 but his stocks are rising. Dusty will win a game or turn a game on his own and is a superstar right now and in full prime territory. Kelly has an enormous ceiling but I'm not sure if he'll ever be that dominator, more the Pendlebury type silk.

I'm not blaming them, we went out and got them. I think we got two similar types and we were more mobile with Dempster and Fisher. I would have preferred to leave Brown and go after a guy like Lever or any of the more mobile tall backs who can load up off their own boot and run and carry if required. I'm hoping Carlisle can get that back in time but right now they make us look stodgy in defence. Our game plan was very run and gun last year but to me looks more pressured this year due to the new set up.

Kingy kept going (mentioning the many twitter followers that have been at him... Yes, we got a mention) and said you never really know what is going to happen in the draft. Yes, Kingy, correct, but we do know what happened afterwards, and Parish wasn't available. He then started saying that the Saints could have had Gresham no matter what. Well Kingy, unless we would have taken him at the eventual pick 6 then we wouldn't have. And if we took him at 6, we would have still ended up with him and not had Carlisle.

How ****ing hard is it to get!?

God I can't stand people in the media that just can't admit that they got it wrong. The longer he goes on the sillier he looks.

Never seems to answer my ****ing tweets anyway!

Was just subjected to that. Kingy and Robbo blatantly ignoring that we got Carlisle and Gresham for pick 5 and not just Carlisle. Infuriating.

Totally disagree. It's allowed us to use our players who are actually good at rebounding to rebound even harder than last year.

Huddo told them the facts and then Kingy just pretty much shook the facts off and started talking crap again.

Yes, I agree that we need elite match winners, but the facts are no one outside of that top 5 have shown that they will definitely be elite, in fact if you look at every player taken after pick 5, Gresham is very close to the best.

Kingy, like Purple, & many others are not paid to be right, they are paid to be controversial! People talking about Kingy even in a negative way = he's earnt his money.

Mate, Lever was contracted, there is no way Adelaide were giving him up last year. Who says we aren't after him now?

Fisher was cooked and Brown cost us absolutely nothing as a stop gap.

I for one think our defence has been our strength this year. Brown and Carlisle have both been very good defensively which has really freed up our other backs such as Roberton to play a more attacking game.

Carlisle has still got a way to go before he gets back to his offensive best, but I think he deserves some time.

I'm not saying we could have got him just that type of modern back. I'm not sure lumbering stationary forwards and stoppers are easy to carry these days. We will have to agree to disagree obviously....... I don't care that much I want to keep defending my position but I'm a stubborn campaigner and won't back down either.
