I have a question. Put of Lloyd, Conca and Miles who would you like to hold onto most?

I vote keep Lloyd, most improvement left in him and could be goal kicking mid.
Lloyd although he will be 28 at the start of next season. If he really wants to cash in with 22 games a year his time is now so i would be incredibly surprised if he was to stay. Would be perfect up on the Gold Coast or even if hes improved his pressure at the Giants.

pretty unrealistic. They would never do that

Neither would I , if we end up with 23 and 25 I would rather we took Mathew Kennedy instead keeping the other for Naish but what is important is putting value in the draft picks to improve our salary cap scenario going forward allowing us to excel with new additions and developments

I think the first point of business most of all is give Jack Graham a 15 year contract and make Townsend a life member:rainbow:

I’d be signing Townsend for two more years. The only reason he didn’t kick 3 goals in the GF was his lack of confidence/commitment to the team. He is currently the best set shot going around. He might have a massive year next year playing as a forward so we are better off having the extra year while we work out what he is really worth.

As much as I rate your opinion Mr Magic (not at all)

I rate the draft guys like Cal Twomey more. He had Naish going at 10 in August and 12 in September.

Considering a lot of teams need for speed like Sydney & West Coast - that have picks 13 & 14, it's not that much of a stretch.
No he didn't. That was not a phantom draft.

i know this doesnt relate to us, but Adelaide are absolutley kidding themselves if they think Lever is worth 2 x 1st round picks.

the bloke got owned by Townsend in the Grand Final, and all Towno simply did was man up on him.

Lever is a 1 trick pony, intercept marks. if you take away his ability to do that he isn't that great IMO.

If Lever is somehow worth 2 x 1st round Picks, Alex Rance must be worth close to 4-5 1st rounders.
SShhhhhhhH!!! For **** sake, that would give us years of lol'ing dees supporters. ****ing hacks.

Worth having a look at Jack Watts? Cheap, won't really be giving up much to get him. Uses the ball well, beautiful kick. Just seems like he doesn't have much fight in him though. Could Dimma and the Richmond way turn that around?

No................just no.............................hell no.................stop it already..............

What's Towny's odds for the Coleman in 2018.....

All of Batchelor , Conca , Miles , Lennon , Lloyd , Hunt ( i know i know ) should be available for trade and if offered a deal trade them

The only player im inclined to keep is Batchelor for depth

Would be more than happy to downgrade #17 for #25 from gws for Kennedy if GWS would look at that deal

Agree re Batchelor we only have him and Garth as Backline depth as it stands . Lucky we got 25 games out of grimes , rance and astbury. Broad stepping up helps

People who think Lever is not worth 2 1st round picks are crazy

He is the best defender in his age group and really come on well , Its a little unfair comparing him to rance but he is tracking extremely well and will be a top defender for the next 10 years and is easily worth 2 1st rounders but which 1st rounders is the thing.

#10 + #15 is about right imo

Lever is understood to be expecting at least $800,000 a season from the Demons.

That sounds about right imo , You need to pay extra to move players and the 800k looks like the right amount

Jacob Weitering , Jake Lever are the 2 standout young defenders in the AFL and with TPP going up 20% its effectively $650k of last year
Lever could be the best defender in the league in 2 years time

only if tross retires

We're the reason Jake Stringer has stalled his decision to commit to either Geelong or Essendon. He would prefer us.

The problem? Jake sees himself as a forward who can push midfield, whilst we're looking for a forward to take over from Jake Riewoldt. At 192cms isn't tall enough.

Won't happen and thank **** because he's a tosser.

All players should be granted the opportunity to explore their options. None of the Premiership 22 should be pushed.

The only players that should be removed from the list are Yarran (retired), Maric (retired), Hunt (delist), Morris (delist) and Elton (delist). Hunt and Morris should both be offered VFL spots.

Fill 2 positions from the draft, by upgrading our first and getting Naish, and elevate Castagna (if he sticks around). For any players that do explore their options, look to gain picks in next years draft for them, and pick up a mature Free Agent as ready to go depth. Fill 6 rookie positions, including a state league ruck around the 25-27 age bracket. See if any of our decent Cat B players are still available and bring them in too.

Go into 2018 with 38 Senior List + 6 Rookies + 1-2 Cat B Rookies, and a few top 20 (somehow) picks in next years draft. With buy-in from the playing group, position our salary cap so we can get Lynch (GC) as a free agent. Being 3 years younger than Riewoldt this covers our forward stocks after he's gone.
