Beauty for us is i think the majority of us would be happy not to trade Gibbs if a good deal doesn't eventuate and just get Kennedy/Lang on the cheap...then draft with pick 3.

Adelaide on the other hand are really squirming and feeling the heat to bring someone in to help their premiership tilt next year, however there will also be plenty of upset fans if they think the club gives up too much for him.

We are in a win/win position.

Think he’ll be a very good pickup for Melbourne... spewing we didn’t look at him!

I think rumours were we had some interest, but probably not as much as Melbourne.

We already have plenty of young midfielders in our team next year...Cripps, Cuningham, SPS, Fisher, Kennedy, pick 3 & possibly Lang.
There's only so many we can play so Balic was probably not required/we couldn't promise him a best 22 spot.

I think Kennedy is a similar type of player but better.

Sam McLure reporting that Gibbs and Schache aren't moving clubs and neither will be traded. Interesting that he cited the 10 + 16 deal and Cameron - similar to our friend b70... am I flying too close to the sun in suggesting b70 may be McLure himself?*

*Apologies if this is wildly inaccurate and I've offended you b70**

**We love you, come back soon.

He didn’t get to play a lot of games for Freo’s reserves but he had quite a few high 20-30 possession games. Could have been a great cheap pickup was at one stage touted as a first round pick in his draft year.. had big upside and could have been an upgrade on a Boek

No way is barass McClure. Scoop throws darts, and hits very few.

Also Barass a while back was talking about playing against some hard men in the 70s, way before Sam's time.

Ahh didn't know the full history of his posts. My bad! More likely is that Sam reads BF and gets his insights from B70.

Barass has to be around 50.
McClure I reckon is only late 20's at most.

Schache really not rated by anyone. Could be like Dusty and turn it all around after the wake up call of being shopped.

Schache reminds me of KJ in he has showed a bit of potential but just can't sustain AFL level performance. Tough gig to be a KPF.

If Sam is right then Bolts must be concerned about lack of experience in the midfield if Gibbs goes, and fair enough.

Bolton has to be practical though and allow the re-build to follow through to the endth degree.

We'll be a better team with Gibbs & Murphy gone and that's not personal but for everything that will come about without them.
Kennedy and the young guys will have to step up from the get-go. We have the next level leadership ready to take over and the sooner we get all the right long-term gears in place, the better.

It may be tougher on Bolton next year and the club must back him, as much as they've backed Silvagni.
