Given you have such wisdom in the ways of list management, I would encourage you to forward your CV to the Carlton Football Club at your earliest convenience. We are obviously being sold short by our current crew.

I can’t see how offering a contract extension to a player that has no suitors is smart list management.

And further your smarmy sarcastic response does a poster of your standing little credit.

I know I will get slammed because it's like shooting Bambi but I really wish SOS didn't go after Adelaide's 16 and instead just went for their future second. We could have still got all our trades done bar upgrade 40 to 30 and probably a 3-4 pick upgrade in the 40's next year.
I think though the difference between pick 21~ and pick 27~ (Dogs pick which I expect will be closer to 30) in next years "super draft" would have been alot more benefit to us. It would have gave us a hell of a lot better chance to find another gun player then what we have given ourselves.

Anyway we done bloody well so I'm happy

I don't agree with the consensus that the crows got overs for Cameron. I would have taken Cameron over pick 10.

Just turned 23 years of age and ready to explode. Already a pretty proven finals performer and once he gets up to around the 100 game mark will be an absolute weapon. Reminds me of Michael Long the way he plays and funnily enough in 1993 Long turned 24 years of age.

Reckon of all the Crows dealings this off season, they will hurt the most for Cameron.
Yessiree.

Crows are down three of their best 15 or so next year, and shouldn't expect the same charmed run with injury.

Will cheer their losses with gusto.

Then how would we have gotten Kennedy?

Was interesting to hear Dodoro talk about Stringer.

Said they did a lot of homework on him and his issues.

Said success came early for him (AA and flag) and some young guys can get carried away with it all.

Said the Dogs booting him was a huge reality check which he didn't see coming.

Reckons Stringer has learnt some hard lesssons and will be much better for the experience.

Time will tell.
A leopard doesn't change his spots.
Stringer will always be a dickhead

CARLTON
GAINED: Matt Kennedy, Darcy Lang, Matthew Lobbe

LOST: Bryce Gibbs

DRAFT PICKS: 3, 10, 30, 73

SAM EDMUND SAYS: Got most of Adelaide’s farm for Bryce Gibbs and used a pick from that deal to land Giants inside midfielder Matt Kennedy. Secured Darcy Lang for a song, ruck back-up Matt Lobbe for a packet of chips and will hit the draft with prized picks 3 and 10. Take a bow, Stephen Silvagni.

Grade: Big winner
At least Sam Edmund gets it.

But most of those comments are still in play..... (God forbid) an injury to Martin in the preseason and a tough draw could easily see pressure on the Tigers next year. A premiership hangover like the WB could see calls for Hardwick and a slow start could whip up the +90k supporter base (mostly bandwagoners) into microwaves and chicken shat after initial expectations. These comments relate to the supporters as much as the club so they are ever present.

The only thing that has changed are comments related to winning finals/ premierships/ the rebuild . God knows a lil pressure could lead to 9thmond again next year
Nah mate when you win the flag its done - Simple

Smart list management would entail making decisions to suit out club, not others. Two years suggests we weren't looking to move him on next year, so why bother with twice the negotiations when we have other fish to fry.

SOS has delivered in three draft periods now - it's no fluke.

Watch him weave his magic next year...

He basically just leveraged our position in next years draft a year early!

I’m in Adelaide tonight.

A crows supporter just spoke to me.

I laughed. He carried me around on his back as a joke for two minutes.

That’s after I said “Bryce carried us for years, maybe he might carry you into a flag”.

TA

Did you piss down his back and tell him it’s raining?

Ask yourself this, would you trade Pick 40 + '18 2nd Rd for pick 30 + '18 2nd crows and '18 2nd Dogs. I know I would every day of the week

As we have seen a few times in recent seasons, clubs are happy to chase fringe rucks from other clubs rather than develop their own. Best to tie them up & give yourself some bargaining power should another club come knocking.

Great work by the SoS.

Thinking about Gibbs in a different couple of contexts in terms of value:
- If Gibbs was out of contract, I'd have only expected 16-20 for him.
- If Gibbs was out of contract I'd direct swap him for Kennedy to buy the extra 7 years of football life (Kennedy has 10 yrs, Gibbs has 3 years).
- Rockliff a comparable player netted Brissy sweet **** all

The value we obtained was huge.

And taking the positivity a little further...
There is a real possibility that M Kennedy is more important to our group next year than Giblet. With smalls such as SPS, Fisher, Murphy, Boek, and Pickett...Kennedy provides a direct benefit to those players by doing the heavy lifting inside and sharing that ball out to those guys saving them from the inside contest.

A player like Kennedy was our biggest need, not only for a chopout to Cripps but to balance out our small 'mostly outside' sized midfielders. That need almost overrides Gibbs mix of inside/outside work.

I can see Bolton next year grouping the midfielders. In the middle on the inside, Cripper, Kennedy, Cuningham and Curnow. Outside/wing running mids: Murphy, SPS, Fisher, Boek, & Lang.

Cripps, Kennedy, Cuningham to get first use of the ball and get it out wide to the runners. A great balance.

SoS knew Cripps was our biggest risk so filled it. Our next biggest risk was Kruezer going down leaving us with Phillips. He has plugged that hole for zero real cost as well.

Lang, just ok but def an upgrade on Graham, Lamb, D Thomas, & Boek and those types that get time thru the midfield. The key is we paid nuffin of value.

Picks 3/10.

The SoSarge delivers again!

Basing next years positions on this year's fraught with danger...

Probably right, but no doubt will be reminded by many if the above doesn't eventuate.
What a inane tweet. Is Ricutto saying a Pick 24 next year is worth more than the sum of ontrading pick 16 to the bulldogs which is Kennedy, a ten pick upgrade from 40 to 30 and 2018 pick 30?

Next year is the year of the free agent. We already have the picks.....could Sos....weave the magic wand again a gain another first rounder?
If anyone can it will be SOS. Has completely destroyed Justin Reid two years in a row.
