To those saying T Langdon gets exposed when playing on talls, guess what? If he came to Freo, lucky we have Pearce, Hamling, Logue, Cox and Kersten who can all take the talls and allow Ryan and Langdon to intercept and dish off to Wilson to play out the back.
He only gets exposed on talls because he's not tall himself. But he does a much better job on them than most players his height. As someone that actually watches his games pretty closely (you'd be disgusted how many pies games I go to a year, and I'll admit I'm a supporter of their VFL side), I actually think he gets exposed more playing on the smalls. Tom's strength is his reach and his intercept marking. He's not fast enough to catch a speedy small forward. I really see him playing the kind of role Ibbo did for us.

Overall, the reality is that we don’t have the full story, we don’t have the medical reports, we don’t have the interview.

Only look back at our recent history of Bennell and Gumby - our record for picking up and getting value from injured players is not great.
Stop speaking sense dammit!

Nobody here has any idea what's going on behind closed doors.

Remember how the Bennell thread went when we traded him in? Hindsight is strong.

Something must not be right with Hogan. Surely we can't be that boneheaded if his medical was fine and there were no other glaring issues. If he comes out next year fully fit and kicks 50 goals, there should be hell to pay.

Why the **** did we trade away pick 6? Sure we got some second and third rounders but they can easily be busts. I'm so disappointed by this, they should've just offered 11 and next year's first and try and get a future third back

Exactly. A year or two ago, I would've been gobsmacked at us pulling out of negotiations, but Jesse, as amazing as he is, has never really fulfilled his potential because of family & health issues, and will be coming to us just off a type of injury that has killed careers before. I trust the club that what we were offering is what he's worth. If he really was 100% fit and ready to go, then Freo would know he was worth more than we offered.

I'm not GB, I'm just saying we clearly have been desperately missed a forward and people keep saying go to the draft, but they don't grow on trees and they take ages to develop.

We will never win a flag if we just keep going to the draft and not getting the players we need. Do you know what I mean

I do, and I feel your frustration. But at the same time, maybe those who do have all the information know better than us what they’re comfortable paying for Hogan. There’s paying overs and there’s paying OVERS.

The only way to know if we have done the right thing is to give things time. If we did get him and never got him on the park, people would still be baying for Bell’s blood a year or two from now.

Yeh good call on hogan bell. He’s always bloody injured and before he got injured this year he was playing shit footy. No way he’s worth 2 1st rounders

This.

If he did not have a history of a navicular injury Hogan is worth two first rounders any day of the week. Something is up behind the scenes.

Very good by bell.

Let's all be grateful that guys like Schwab and Bond are no longer making these decisions.

I'm not upset if I can't buy a house I value at $500,000 but the owner wants $650,000 and the structural engineer's report won't get back to me after the deal is supposed to be finalised.

The real estate agent needs to work on the seller over the weekend, start talking about how the house will be a disruptive influence all next year and needs to be closer to it's mother.

The fact we at no point heard from Hogan or his management about his desire to get to Freo pretty much sums this up as an opportunity for Melbourne to get May and nothing more. The fact Hogan appears to not really care whether he's playing for Melbourne of Freo doesn't really bode well for his ongoing commitment does it?
