Richmond will definitely finish top 2.

Aside from West Coast, they're a game and percentage ahead of everyone else with only 8 games to go. For them to miss top 2 you would imagine that they would have to lose around 4 out of their last eight, it's just not going to happen.

I agree with what others have said, you can pretty much lock them in for the Grand Final at this point.

I am fine with that, my hope for the rest of the season is....

1. we sign Sloane
2. we finish as low as we can
3. Port don't make the GF.

They're about the only things I really care about for the remainder of the season.

And at their home ground....they’re going back to back

You can add Melbourne finishing as low as possible to the list.

I agree with the general sentiment. It's bullshit how little they travel and how many of their 'away' games are still at the MCG, like their final against Geelong last year. If the game was played in Geelong the outcome probably would have been very different.

If the MCG is your home ground and you have a big supporter base other Vic teams will host their home games at the MCG also, meaning you have a ridiculous advantage even in 'away' games.

That being said, Richmond's pressure is amazing and I was really impressed with them last night. I thought the different dimensions of Etihad might be a factor but they weren't. Some teams totally collapse after winning grand finals (Bulldogs), but Richmond have come back even better than last year. They're showing the same hunger that we totally lacked in the grand final.

We also have to be smarter about how we deal with the MCG. Both Essendon and Gold Coast built training ovals that match the exact dimensions of the MCG. We need to do the same. It's the most important ground to play well at and it's also our worst. We've arrogantly assumed that our game plan can beat any team at any venue without needing to be modified and it hasn't worked.

So I’m probably late to the party, but I love Port’s stance on DBJ.

So if you are late to a training session Port impose a one match ban!

If you are out pissed off your head, and are accused of ‘inappropriately’ touching a female, then Port give you.......a one match ban!

That checks out.

Edit: DBJ not BDJ - if only I could argue I was dyslexic - props to those who knew what I was talking about.

Haha yeh says it all doesn't it!

Or Port make the Grand Final but lose by 49 points to Richmond.....

Im not sure I could cope with the anxiety of Port in the Grand Final. On the Port board during Grand Final week, they were all bracing themselves for a Tsunami to hit Alberton had we rolled the Tigers.

The thought of them winning it, terrifies me lol.

Mind you 119 and 49 pt losses would be hilarious as f**k. I would even settle for a Dixon/Ryder/Watts/Rocky/Motslops missing a set shot after the siren to win it.

They're playing Carlton this week. It's always easy to be tough at the selection table when you're playing a bottom side, we did the same last year when we played against Brisbane by dropping Mackay and Jenkins.

Their record against Carlton over there is not great.

Although Carlton don't want to lose that number one pick.......

4. Melbourne miss the 8
5. Carlton finish bottom
6. Burton and Hass get the chop
7. We get Rankine

5 of their last 8 at G.
1 at Etihad
1 away at GCS.
1 away at GWS

Top spot, 3 at G for flag.

Or put another way...8 of their last 11 at the G for the flag.

They might as well field a reserves team when they travel to QLD and NSW.

Last time they will have to leave the state in 2018.

Really Gold Coast? by the time they make a GF the MCG deal would have finished years ago

Lose any of Martin, Riewoldt or Rance & they become vulnerable... otherwise I agree.
