Had to LOL about Hip taking a mark over the back against HA.

HA NOT at all impressed..................gave Hipppy a bit of a forearm to the back after the contest.

A few of us were screaming .....FIFTY!!!!!:)

Hippy calmly slots the goal..... HA looks rightly pissed off and sulks a bit

Great stuff!

I remember seeing Payne last year in the NEAFL and legitimately thinking he was about 30. He’s absolutely ENORMOUS.

Thanks for the updates everyone. Great to hear Cutler getting a solid run at it, he’s definitely shown some glimpses and would love to see him jump up to that next level. Matho too, he works so bloody hard and deserves every bit of success coming to him. He’s gonna be an absolute [shot]gun.

Was a good hit out yesterday boys were super hard into. That Hippy Harris moment was great to see.

I feel like the skills were a touch better than the first intraclub I watched last year.

Beastmode is a beast, rayner seem to really be applying himself to the defensive side of his game. Was quite awesome to see was expecting him to be seagulling on the outside but nope he ain’t afraid to get dirty especially going the other way. Bit of Mathieson fitness, might not test so well but didn’t see him really blowing up at all and kept making it to contests.

Kinda seemed like everyone was making a much stronger effort to run the other way. Christensen was bobbing about looked pretty classy with ball in hand.

We got a bit of zip around the middle now I think we’ll see some pretty fun football this year which is great.

Some big kicks coming out the backline stacking the good ball users down there.

Big O > Archie.

Hugh McCluggage was the best of the youngsters jesus this kid is gonna be a superstar.

All in all much more impressed than this time last year. Gonna be real tough picking the round 1 team was real hard to split a lot of the guys. Everyone was showing great endeavour and we’re relatively injury free. Oh and don’t count out tom Bell he looked pretty good out there

Sounds like a few of them are really putting on the muscle which is great news.

A couple of pictures of Payne in action would be great.

How did Allison go? I really think he will be a surprise and be best 18 by the end of the season.

Beastmode was definitely impressive. Missed him.

Wouldn't say the skill level was great but the endeavour was. Plenty of cracking in.
Hodge doing his instructional thing. Loudly.

The Big O clunking a couple of FF ruckman marks was something we haven't seen around here for years.

No doubt the video will show us more.

Adrian Fletcher looking fitter than when he was playing.

Shame about Walkers finger but it shouldn’t effect round 1

Like the sound of this
Most notably, the Lions' defensive setup appeared far tighter than previous years, with repeat forward 50 entries a feature.

And it looks like the back six will be
The victorious orange outfit contained the probable round one back six – Andrews, Hodge, Dan McStay, Alex Witherden, Darcy Gardiner and Sam Mayes

Where is the vid?

Something more:

I suspect the Lions' scales are way off if Payne's weight is as reported. No way- he is huge!!! And quick.

And I know it is very early doors, and I am not just picking on him, but I reckon Rich will no longer be able to cruise along, with the occasional power boost.

Kick it anywhere because I am who I am isn't acceptable. And he CAN do it, as demonstrated.

Watched Cameron during the warm ups- he was pinging them on an acute angle off his left foot, maybe 4 out of 6 attempts. Most impressive. But he ain't big by any means.

Starcevich [?] running laps- he has the solid build of a Rugby player. Wow.

Starcevich is AFL ready. Solid lad. Needs to work on his game a bit but doesn't seem to have any huge holes in his game besides his low possession tallies.
