Naah, until Weevil's fat lady sings nothing is OTL.

Dodongo told everyone weeks ago to calm their ****. Neale is ours and has been since the news broke. Dodongo never expected him to announce it before the B & F and Dodongo believes the hesitation on his part is to make it less hurtful to the Dockers and has been played up big time to that. No one has to worry. Neale is ours. Dodongo has spoken!

They'll need our pick 5 to get the deal done and they are likely to need to unload Neale's salary cap space as well, Hogan will be on a shit load of dollars if he goes over there and if they get Rory Lobb as well it will make it even easier for us.

Tell them pick 5 and that's it, throw in next years 2nd on the last afternoon if needed.

Dunno, surely trading pick 4 & 22 for 9 & 10 comes into the thinking.. then splitting them by using 10 for Neale on traded for Hogan and we keep 9...:)

Whats Steven May worth? - to the Gold Coast about pick 2 or pick 3. Thats what they will get next year in compensation even if he sits in reserve grade all year. It doesn't matter who Melbourne and Freo compare him to his value is unique to the Suns. Everyone talks about him being possibly pick 10, not to the Gold Coast they got compensation for Lynch their co-captain right after their 1st pick. Next year I cant see them climbing the ladder, maybe even one step back so May's compensation pick will be 2, 3 or 4. If they took pick 10 they would be admitting defeat IMO. They have a heap of draft picks this year and no big name players coming so they will go to the draft. See who they get and then load up again next year with a couple of top picks. If I was at Gold Coast I'd want pick 4 or 5 or tell the rest to get stuffed. Tony Cochran will be in this decision and I cant see him rolling over.

Glad the "honey badger" is not our recruiting manager.... had some real talent to choose from and in the end couldnt commit....... off his head!

Hmm...Committing to one over the choice of talent...

~1m a season is slightly overpaying but not to the extent I thought we would have to to entice a contracted bordering on elite player to our club. Add in Thurlow, McCarthy and the unknown player (could be someone like Hall as a left field selection) and we are looking a lot stronger next season.

Hall is going to Norf. They released a video of him talking about how they are his preferred club last night.

I'm sure Freo would tell us to F off if we did that

Maybe ...Not like they haven't thought of keeping pick 4 and giving pick 5 for Hogan...pick 10 is still a first-round pick and before Melbournes first pick.

What unknown player is this?
Hall is going to NM

Dodongo has a feeling we will end up with a pick in the late teens to get Berry and then enough to get McFayden afterwards. Dodongo is thinking if we can get two picks in the 20's even if it means using our second next year packaged with something then a team might have interest giving up their first rounder for those two picks.

So even if we give up pick 24 after compo, Dodongo can see a better pick coming our way. 18-20.

I reckon they will either wat a top 5 pick for May, or maybe a first and early second rounder. 2 top 20 picks or so. Or else you're right, they will just hold him to contract.

Would be amazed if that's the case. He has so much talent and would slot into our current midfield very well IMO esp. with Neale

Definitely. Sounds like you guys are head-hunting the right people who are both current needs and impending replacements for some of your more senior players in the coming years. Fagan is a master enticer.

The Petrevski-Seton thing seems to have come up a few times from a few different sources now. Very interesting. He was a Lions fan wasn't he? Not that it'd carry any weight - the Cedric Cox/Halls Creek connection might though.

I remember SPS saying in the lead-up to the draft that he wanted to go to a Melbourne club though, so would be a bit of an odd one. I'm guessing he'd be worth a late first/early second rounder at present, but I haven't seen a heap of him play so it's hard to say.

Thanks Deathly - pre the Nobel and Fagan era we pretty much took any player available - good, bad or ugly. We were the last stop on the train line of a career. Not any more though, its amazing what happens when a vision is set and a plan to executed it is established. More so sticking to the plan gets buy in from every one from off-field to the players and us supporters. Been a long time but we are an excited bunch again now.
