Maybe we think rankine is a chance to slide to 68... interesting move. Let's see how it plays out
Makes no sense to me. Surely 73 gets that deal done and we keep next years pick instead of trading for 68?68 for Stengle, paperwork to be submitted later according to Trade Radio.
How?Reid bent over again
(cue nuffs)
Now I agree that is oddLee Gaskin just reported that the Pick 68 has gone from North to the Suns to us and will now end up at Richmond as the swap for Stengle. It will be made official later today for some reason.
Now I agree that is odd
Why trade a future pick to get 68 if we already have 73. If we won’t use 73 Stengel would have been essentially free but that future pick may have been needed.
Either we have agreed to use 73 as a sweetener in another deal or the report is wrong and while 68 will go to tigers it’s not the whole deal. Most early reports tend to leave out the steak knife components (eg Gov deal)
Not sure if they move with Academy picks. I was thinking more along the lines of FA compo picks. For example, GC received pick #3 for losing Tom Lynch. This moved the start of the 2nd round back from #19 to #20. Throw in a few more FA compo picks, and the 4th round could start at #60 or later.Does the pick points value move down with academy picks? That’s a bit unfair. The pick value should stay at the original value.
It may not matter much with the lower picks but certainly would with the high picks.

Pick swap with Gold Coast, then suddenly Francou is fine to go...
Laying groundwork for a mutually respectful relationship with GC...
Pick 3, here we come
How?
I’ve suggested those with rich 4th coming back or those + Carl 2019 5th for rich 3rd + stengleMight be 68 and 73 for Stengle? Either way it’s worth it. Those picks would not have been used.
Then so be it , plenty of good players so just depends on where he’s rated on the boardPort have 6 and 10. Wouldn’t think he’d still be there by 13.
I agree that it would be no loss to us if it did eventuate, but you also have to factor in that you're essentially helping out your opponent as well by giving them above market value (albeit marginal at that point of the draft)Might be 68 and 73 for Stengle? Either way it’s worth it. Those picks would not have been used.
#68 & #73 makes no sense, given that #73 alone should have been more than enough. Arguing that "those picks would not have been used" is rather silly in this case, given that we specifically traded for #68.Might be 68 and 73 for Stengle? Either way it’s worth it. Those picks would not have been used.
Has to be more to it. Otherwise just stupid to trade away next years pick when surely we could have gotten the deal done with 73 which is essentially useless this year.Wondering if it was more about GC getting a future pick rather than us. If so we've done them 2 favours with a pick swap, and letting Francou go.....

Surely the last player port need is Hately? Then so be it , plenty of good players so just depends on where he’s rated on the board
8 seems a slight stretch but not my much so a chance there
They didn't change the list sizes ... which BTW are:Are those rules around the rookie list still in place? I thought they got overhauled a year or two back when they ditched the requirement for another player to get delisted / long-term-injured before a rookie could play senior footy?
