yeah we have zero trades so far, so it's not like there's anything to find.

Conca has been included. We have a couple of trade threads for general chit chat. Scrolling through pages of multiple threads trying to find out if anything to do with Bennell, Neale, Lobb, Hogan has been confirmed blows and a confirm thread would make it easy. So I'm guessing we are all in the purple haze, wishing the best for the club, not knowing who can make it happen - maybe Peter Bell.
So what I'm thinking Freo can take a few different roads.
1. Force Neale to stay and finish the 2019 contracted season. Draft pick 5. Bailey Smith/Ben King
2. Trade Neale for below his worth. Brisbane's pick 4. Use pick 4 and 5.
for any combo of Izak Rankine, Conor Rozee, Bailey Smith/Ben King, Max King
3. Trade Neale for Brisbane's pick 4. and another round. Use picks 4, 5, 70's and other
for AFL players from WA that are playing over east.
This can include trading down our lottery picks for the 2nd,3rd or 4th round where the talented WA players are.
What I'm curious to see is more along of the line of leveraging our 1st round picks for a roster list of premium WA players. Usually players that are most talented at the top of the draft are from SA and VIC - I am afraid of them leaving and this situation reoccurs.
Even if WA players are stars or not exactly stars at those east coast clubs - I'd rather try keep the passion of the players wanting to play and stay in there home state. If we can get multiple WA players for 1 top SA or VIC player, I'd like to see it for a change.
I think freo have started to try it with Cam McCarthy and some others I can't remember, Hamling?
It's a tricky subject. I hope it made a little sense. Ideally, in summary what I'd like to see is young WA footballers seeing a path to the AFL in Freo Dockers. Like Fyfe except a whole club list. Even if they come from other clubs initially like Hamling. I'd rather use a first round pick or first two round picks to take 2-3,4 or more talented WA players every year.

Just seemed like you were forcing it. Coupled with the fact that you're a new poster and most people generally will be a tad suspicious.
The general premise of your post was interesting and I agree that Freo have generally started a trend of recruiting WA players back to their home state. Some would say it's long overdue and that all signs point to us attempting to do it again this year. For what it's worth I'd rather see us trade Neale and gain Lobb and then go to the draft this year and next rather and create our own big fish instead of looking to poach it.
Was there any actual credence to the Hogan failed medical story? There was some suggestion that it was bullshit from Seven Perth and I haven't seen any serious reporting of it today?
Cracks me up that these “journalists” are so desperate for news they refer to how other “journalists”are feeling about potential trades and what they believe will happen. Joke of an industry.
5 and another top 10 for Hogan according to Fox is what Mel want.

Finalise Lobb, offer pick 6 for Hogan and if they don't accept he stays at Melbourne for another year and we take our picks to the draft.
Same with Lachie, either Lions pay a premium or we hang onto him until next year.
