No guarantees, but if people on here are demanding that we 100% nail it, then you are being harsh as all clubs are guilty of stuffing this up far worse than we ever have & our picks in the top 6 have been few & far between.
One thing is for sure, we are the masters at nailing our rookie picks & turning them into some of the best footballers our club has ever had.
I trust the club to have a good crack at this draft & what happens, happens.
Suggest we ignore the draft tonight and just go straight to the rookie draft.

Wouldn't that be vinegar on their wound? And we'd be hurting them big time next draft in increasing their deficit. If we were to be the good guys to them and promise not to spoil the party...what chance we obtaining pick four? What would be be prepared to give up? Our next year's first might get the job done?
Why would we want to give up something of significance to go from pick 5 to pick 4? Probably still pick the same player.

Better not be the defender jeez he’s good but we need mids
Seems like McCasey is someone teams might want to trade up for.
If McCasey can net us the Stephens-es or Dylan Stephens and Schoenberg via a trade down he could be the best defender who never played for us. :p

Have you seen him a bit? 69 kgs and doesn't seem that fast either - kicking at 52% - compared to Kemp's 64% :thumbsupemoji: and Flanders 47% Young is 75% - I guess the guys in defense get a lot more cheap 'N easy ones, but still.....is 52% average?

I'd be worried by this pick.
he ran a 2.97-second 20-metre sprint and also finished third overall in the 2km time trial at the Draft Combine

And some don’t. Were you kicking up a storm when we got Blakey for pick 10? It swings around.
Are you saying don’t bid as a sort of quid pro quo, or because it’s not worth bidding it you’re not getting the player, because I can understand the former but the latter makes no sense.

A lot of people hoping we move down the draft order, which is confusing to me. I’m assuming the logic is that there is no real stand-out prospects available to us at five, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. If anything we could be in a prime position to land a top 3 talent. Kemp was every bit as impressive as Anderson before his injury IMO, and he could slide because of that injury. Young is the classiest and best decision maker and ball user in the draft, and he could slide because his interview stages weren’t as solid as others.

It’s like the big man upstairs has parted the clouds and made it as easy as possible for us to land a kid who is a top 3 talent despite us only having pick 5. If we use that pick on the right player, we could come out of this draft as daylight robbers. If we use that pick to move further down, or use it on a prospect with the talent of a late second round/third round selection, then we’ve only robbed ourselves.

I’m saying it’s a waste of time the club wouldn’t have put the time into these players. Let’s get the player we want!

Plus I don’t want to go to pick 6...that has a horrible record

Could be worth it, but not sure if we could get another club to agree.
I think it will depend on where clubs place us next year and what their needs are with their lists - prob an obvious statement! If a club hasn’t got a player in mind that fills a need, ie: already gone in the draft then it is much more likely than not
