Agreed I think we were always going with McAsey but we’re just a bit disappointed when Sydney took Stephens because I get the feeling that’s who the Blues wanted but they thought they needed to get ahead of Freo, I think Sydney spoiled the party for everyone!!

We r too conservative so no Taylor. I suspect we will take jai Rantall pick 24 then get future second for dropping a few places then get our other guy. Hope we get Harrison jones but port want him too so be interesting. Still think if Robertson still on board too good to pass up. Let’s hope Brisbane don’t want him. I also like sharp and Bianco. A lot still on board of quality. Hell may even get teheney at 37 or even 45

Port are not going to settle for anything less than a 2020 1st round for that pick, and it will be a bidding war.
I say we throw our 2020 GWS 1st AND 45 at either Port or Brisbane . Keeps our list numbers this year to 5 and we control the start of the 2nd Rd

I don’t think Port will be interested in GWS’ 2020 first rounder as the main piece of this potential trade. There’s too much quality still left on the board tonight and next year’s draft is a shitshow with all the bids that will come in early.

For pick 22, I think we would need to give up 24 and the Dogs 2020 2nd rounder. A garbage 2020 4th round pick would come back our way.

We would also promise not to bid on Mead, and probably advise port that we’re steering clear of Worrell / Bianco too, who seem their logical targets.

Then we take Robertson at 22 (guaranteeing Port get one of their targets at 24), and then we pull the trigger on one of Gould, Schoenberg, Rivers or Sharp at 25.

True. I have no problems with his opinions, as everyone guesses some right and some wrong.

I have a problem when he speaks about "facts" and "sources". It's okay to be a nuffy - acknowledge it, and then you deserve it when you get some right.

There's probably only four or so bids in the first round next year - it's not THAT different to this year. I guess the bigger issue is there will be bids through out the draft, which will be chaotic.

With what talents still available finding a taker for a deal like that will be the problem.....they'll want big overs or they'll just happily take a player.

I just watched it, they panned to the Crows with 1.30 left on our 5 minutes, they all had their serious faces on as they were obviously in the middle of a potential trade discussion.

The reality is that if we desperately wanted Stephens we would not have traded back to 6.
