The melts.

10 & a 2020 2nd round pick is better than 6 & 2020 3rd rounder. If that ends up being the trade...
I don't believe the 6 + 3rd report (or at least I don't believe that was all of it).

I am independently annoyed if we only get 10 + a future 2nd (which will end up in the 30s even if the Saints finish bottom 8).
The saints have traded out their future 3rd rounder which means they can't trade their future 1st iirc

we have been absolute boned here
We could include our future 3rd in the deal to alleviate that problem.

It means we would have to trade them back a future pick to get access to their first

If what’s reported is true, will haunt this football club for another decade.

The media and fans will distill this trade period into the line ‘freo turned down pick six so for pick 10!’

Couldn't care less about that.

I am more concerned about letting a top 3 player at our club walk out with 2 years to go in return for........ mediocre draft capital. Would have much rather held him for next year. We let go Lachie Neale to bring in Hogan.

Honestly, we would have accepted 6 and a future 3rd first day of trade week before the whole shitstorm happened and both clubs and fans would have seen it as a fair deal. The Saints originally wanted something back for 6.

And 10 and a future 2nd is probably slightly better than 6 and a third.

#perspective

Working with the Draft Pick value index is as follows

Pick 6 (1751) and Future 3rd (316) = 2067 points
Pick 10 (1395) and Future 2nd (703)= 2098 points

Slight improvement on points value, but obvs the worse the Saints are the better the value will get.

Calculated move by the 'Aints. We wanted 6, so they split it. We wanted the future first, so they took it off the table by trading out a future 3rd.

They think they have us over a barrel. I think Hill might be staying, and he'll know it is because the Saints tried to cheap out.

Not sure I'm that fazed about the difference between 6 and 10 in regards to potential recruits this year, although obviously 6 is better. I still think 10 ends up with a player we want; say Roberton, Jackson, Rivers or Sharp. We may have lost a shot at Stephens along the way.

If we wanted a top 10 pick.

Why not do the deal like what Melbourne did with North.

Melbourne got pick 8 from North for a future first pick and picks 26, 50

Why can’t we get creative and do sh.it like this????
So so dumb.

Pick six and say their 2020 3rd ...if they finished 8th are virtually the same points at pick 10 and their 2020 2nd if they finished 8th

if this is the deal...everyone could have save themselves the squabble if it had been accepted on day one then we changed 10 into 12 and 18 lol...
then we would have virtually concluded the deals with 2930 points 12,18 and 2020 2nd eg St K pick 28 .edit ..correction 3rd round pick 46 331 pts and Total 2582pts

oh its all too much

Two or three 2020 2nd round picks will be able to do that.

Because Melbourne need to finish top 6 for that deal to work, something we won't do

Also the points equate to Melbourne winning the GF and the points are still even so some would say even winning the GF they won't win the deal.

I think top 6 does it tho
