Borderline best 22 in a team worse than us + 1 first rounder + a bunch of steak knives picks.

We got killed.

Rightio...10, a second which is likely to be before 25 before academy bullshit next year, 58 which should get us Aish, a fourth next year which could be handy for our own academy and Acres for Hill and a 3rd...

Happy with that

How many people potting Acres actually have any clue about his capabilities? That would mean you have to watch St Kilda every week, and what kind of psycho would do that if you didn't support them? From the limited times I've seen him over the last several years, he looks a very solid player and would help to increase our side's physical presence.

I get why people might not be excited with that deal but I like it. 10 + a future second rounder probably equates to around 6 anyway (if not more) and we get a free Acres on top. I personally think Acres is a pretty average wingman but I definetly think he could become a very solid inside/outside midfielder for us. I really liked his 2018 year considering how he was basically played all over the shop.

A future first looks appealing right now but I think we have to remember how weak the draft pool available to us is probably going to be next year.

Enjoy Acres guys has been my favourite for a long itime watched a lot of him in the reserves to. Sure he's been inconsistant but he still has an ability to crazy things and change games. Stick him in the guts next to Fyfe and Mundy let him learn and watch him with a bit of confidence take over. Richo ruined him and the club pushed him out all the best to Blake will be hoping he proves everyone at the saints wrong

Too early to call a definitive winner IMO.

If Acres becomes legit best 22, we've done very well, especially if 10 nets one of our top targets.

But...as it stands Saints would have to be happier to have retained that 2020 first.

1 first round. We held the cards and got one 1 first round. Not at all happy with that
Yep , take the purple glasses off ... it’s a classic big footy trade (as a poster said earlier) a whole heap of shit-acres, 58, future 4th is rubbish AND we still had to hand over a future 3rd.

Only the first rounder had any meaningful value.

Sorry but belly caved.
Probably hoping Barrett and co are nicer to him now

would have preferred their 2020 first over pick 10 tbh. They have a bottom 4 team written all over them.

Disappointed we didn't get the 2x 1sts for Brad but we should definately be happy with that haul. Lots of flexibility now in approaching this years draft & next years draft.

A lot of Saints fans over on their board aren't happy at all with the price they paid.

Mate go and have a look at the Saints board, they're furious that Acres had to be involved.

At the end of the day, Hill wanted out. We can say that we hold all the cards as much as we want but at the end of the day, players usually get what they want.

Its a decent result. We got Hill on the cheap & get back a first rounder and a player who was drafted in the first round and whose ceiling is unknown but fits the profile we need. Plus another second rounder for next year.
People say we held all the cards but a contract means bugger all these days when a player has requested a trade and nominated another club. He's going one way or the other.
