I doubt it, unless we offer what’s been offered or pay that price once he puts it on his head in a draft. Staying isn’t an option unless we cough up the cash. Which I doubt we will. If Dogs don’t get him then they run the risk of him going before they get a chance in the PSD. If we were in the equation then there wouldn’t be an equation because we’d already have offered him a $ x year deal that he’d accept.

We've got pick 4. There is still pick swap trading that can still happen for a while and on Draft night, as well as what we need for next year. Plus Ogilvile and Reid work together on these deals. Binuk was there with Reid in the room to sign off on the deal. Players are tracked for at least 2-3 years prior to their draft year. We can't rate how good Hamish is and think he does it in isolation. He's part of that team with Reid and Reid doesn't make the decisions where draft picks are involved without approval from Hamish.

It's typical of this board to only look at the immediate and not see the bigger and longer picture which is what being in List Management and Recruitment is.

It's that mystery one that is being mentioned but no name has been associated with them. Even having two we need points for is something we need to bank as we can. Those two we know about are predicted as first/second rounders and you might think that other clubs are likely to bid on them. The one thing Hamish is very good at is predicting what other clubs are going do/pick. He would know who would likely to be interested in those players already and cause us a little bit of grief.

Our club rarely looks at the big picture, just reacts year to year. Colour me skeptical.
