Brad Hill averages over 25 touches and 4 I50’s a game. He’s extremely consistent. You may be thinking of his brother.

He’s one of the best wingers in the game and is “the cake” in modern footy with his gut running in transition.
Career wise he averages 20, and is less than Polec. Statistically apart from last year, Polec has him covered. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I just don't see how any sort of Papley deal would happen, given:

1) They only appear to be willing to let Papley go if they land Daniher; and
2) Pick 9 appears to be on the table for Papley

Maybe if the Daniher deal falls over, we offer them Wood and one of our picks next year?

(Obviously it's complete rubbish and we're not landing Papley, but still.)

They're not trading for his career. Although maybe they should as then they'd have four flags.

FWIW I like the pick swap we did today. Everyone keeps saying that next year is a compromised draft due to academies etc. That means it improves our position to get the best of the rest, or even get one of these supposed top 10 picks if they choose not to match due to the points they need to give up.

If this years draft is that even, we could still land good players with our 2nd round picks and it gives us lots of flexibility on draft night as well.

TBH don't understand why people dont like the swap

Yes but this is the same Port who gave us Pittard for free. Maybe their judge of talent isnt really what it should be

And wouldn't take 35 or whatever it was for BJ, got nothing and walked him to the draft where we swooped with the said pick. There members should be up in arms.

As a hypothetical, let’s say Papley to Carlton falls over, would you guys do 26 & 27?

Given we have ‘banked’ our first pick, I’d certainly do it and I think it’s fair value for Papley.

Nope. That would leave our first live pick being 47 or so. Bugger that. If we can get back in at around 30 or so then maybe.

Or you flip that and say 'We're good enough, that's why we weren't fussed about pick 8 this year.'

We'll see, I guess.

Cept he's a dog ... but you see what i'm getting at.

The club got rid of pick 8 this year.

Clearly they don't rate Kemp and Gould. 5 and 9 might not have been worth it this year. Maybe last year's draft - TT, Rozee and one of Smith, Jones, ... Blakey ... then Bailey Scott.

We'll see. These same people thought it a good idea to bring Tyson in too, so let's not jump the gun. They aren't the smartest guys in the room - they have proven themselves to be pretty low rent.

As a layperson on matters drafting and trading, I'll defer to those far more knowledgable than myself on this board. On face value I'm just disappointed the recruiters didn't back themselves in to pick a high-end talent with 8. You can't tell me there's not 10 outstanding players in the draft? I realise we enter the 2020 draft with a strong hand, but in season 2021 Goldstein and Higgins will be 33, Tarrant 32, Ziebell and Cunnington 30 and Brown 29.

The fat wench is yet to serenade us in this trade period! Who knows what happens from here, but we have options for tomorrow and next trade period. Can't help but think there is a bit to play out yet, as I really can't see how Cartlon can satisfy the suns and swans on martin/papley.

Melbourne's defensive line and midfield is way too good for them to finish in the bottom 5 with an easy draw

Also we could be in a position next year to upgrade our first 2 rounders into a top 2 pick as those with academy selections are just going to want points. Who knows we already may have #1 courtesy of the Dees, although its hard to see with the way the Suns are placed.

So we give up pick 8 to Melbourne who will spend most of next year playing against bottom 6 teams who they will treat as cannon fodder if they are anywhere near fit.....

This is going to wind up being pick 12 or worse and in a grossly compromised draft.

Just a terrible, terrible decision. No rose coloured glasses are going to help this one.

Well we need to belt them twice for a start!
