Whoever gets Jenkins it will be a bargain. No risk all reward scenario.

However, he may be seen to hold out a young guy getting minutes Will Walker Hosie etc if he plays for us

Of all the types we need, he is one we don't with Brown and Larkey. It would be unbalanced having a third 2m tall, the rebound would kill us.

Both Papley and Martin will be at Carlton next year. It’s being held up with Dodoro and the Daniher deal. There is an agreement with Carlton and Sydney if the Daniher deal goes through and there is a contingency plan if the Daniher deal falls through.
Carlton will use a swap of picks for the papley deal to get the Martin trade done.

I’m not too sure. Daniher definite no and reckon only one of Martin or Papley will get to Carl

McClure: The Brad Hill deal is done, it will be lodged in the afternoon. My understanding is that Brad Hill and a future third round pick will go to St Kilda. The Saints will give up 10, a future second, 58 and Blake Acres.

From what I was told Carlton will get Sydney’s 2nd back part of the papley deal, which will then go to GC for Martin. Carlton also have the option of trading next years 1st with a swap of picks in Carlton’s favour. Carlton have the picks to get both done, they just might have to give up more than they hoped.

Freo ahead on that one imo. They'll hold 7 & 10 in 2019 and 3x 2nd round selections in 2020. Unsure where #58 comes into it as GC hold that pick?

If Acres can bring it together he could be a pretty good player.

Does Hill come with any issues? I'm aware of some 'conjecture' of his Hawthorn time and also that he has a Victorian gf. But it's still a curious move to leave his family, teammate brother and home state to move back across the country. Puts a slight question mark on banking on him for mine.

58 is supposedly going to Geelong for Zac Smith and then to Saints for Jack Steven

Clear as mud yeah?

Saints a victim of small club status just like us.

If Jack Steven played for Collingwood his latent worth would've been pumped up by the media to a top 30 pick. Can just hear the chorus of "you're getting a very good player who's effectively sat out and rested his body for 2 seasons."

So basically saints have lost Martin acres pick 10 and gained Hill?

North would be ridiculed by the media if they did that trade for Polec. Hill isn’t much better than Polec if at all. I have no doubt the saints will get pats on the back.

Are they tho?

Also we didn't hunt Tyson but he is useful if we lose Cunnington, Anderson or Ziebell to injury.

Unfortunately we tried to play him in addition, and subsequently LDU was being left out of the squad as a consequence which was not a great result, I le have thought.

I suppose they aren't the same in reality - Brady with Jade as his mouthpiece is pulling the strings.

I'm waiting to 7:30 to see what we do in totality, have to think we have a few things up our sleave. Our 2nd next year must be pretty valuable to one of these clubs with academy selections.

Carlton have offered Pick 9 but want Sydney's 2nd back (25)

Someone with a draft calculator should work out what our 26 & 27 are worth. Might be about the mark?

Why do people think 2x picks in the 20s is the same as a top 10.

It's madness.

Acres was always a part of the Hill deal as far StKilda list management was concerned , the fact that they only informed him yesterday is an absolute disgrace .

And hurriedly put on a plan to go to play for Fremantle, I could not think of a worse fate, well besides playing for *.

Disgrace?

Hardly. They are professional athlete's and they better get used to it, because it will become the norm in the next 15 years.

Acres should be thanking his lucky stars, he wasn't getting a contract extension past 2020 and he's probably starting in the VFL next year.

He's a fresh face at a new club with no prejudice and a shiny new 3 year deal on probably decent coin (and moves back home to his home state).

They didn't exactly send him to the GC.

Random * supporter to trade radio "Sydney are incumbent to do the right thing by Joe, he's gone public yada yada".

They are in the sewer with Carlton supporters. Sydney owe some sort of community service to Joe to pay through their backsides for him then? No onus on * to let him go?

By the AFL's own definition (draft calculator) 26 & 27 is about he same as 9. That is one reason "people think" it.

Irrespective, I understand the point you're making in valuing a Top 10 more than 2 x 20s and that is exactly mine for Papley. I don't think he is worth Pick 9 but I would give up two seconds for him given we have already 'banked' our first

Moot point anyway if he ends up at Carlton
