Yeah..but get them this year and it will guarantee another very low finish next year as we have a midfield thinner than paper. Then we can get the top end mids next year
get thilthorpe, hollands (if b crouch leaves) and another mid with pick 7.

apparently theres a really good top end forward from south australia next year.

With VIC continuing to fail at pandemics is there any talk of moving the draft again from late this year to say first quarter next year?

I can't see VIC turning this around quickly and I highly doubt they'll quarantine 18 year olds away from their family to play a carnival.

We will see. We're going stage 4 this week it seems

How do points deficits work when picks are traded? For example, Freo currently has pick 2 and a 265 point deficit which would drop their pick 2 to pick pick 3 (I think). So if a team struck a trade of picks with Freo, would they be trading in pick 2 and Freos points deficit is passed on to their next selection, currently 23 dropping that to 34? Or would the club be trading in Freos pick post points deduction, trading in pick 3?

After yesterday we clearly need an overhaul everywhere !
Trade out guys with good value who are disposable eg. Laird for a first or an early 2nd rounder

**on trade picks traded in for Hately, Valente, offer Parfitt a good deal and threaten PSD***

1. Thilthorpe
2. Hollands
7. Granger-Barass
20. Dumesney
32. Baldwin
40. Edwards
48. Newchurch
64. Borlase

Next year we’ll be shit again
Aim for more good local talent

2021:

Horne
Rayson
*** these top 2 we need to get our hands on***

Draper
Murley
Dudley - NGA for us

From WA - Judd Mcvee sounds exciting

Deficits are applied before trade week. So the points come off and new pick allocated, before a team came trade picks.

I'd be staggered if we got Edwards and Newchurch that late.

And we don't need Hately AND Valente, not enough difference between the 2.

Any risk of draft not being held this year? I have a mate who reckons this is highly likely given the draftees haven’t been playing and the list sizes will be reduced. Admittedly he is a pear supporter so don’t trust him

I'm very fearful that a bid will come on Newchurch in the top 20. Will ruin a lot of plans
Maybe.

I reckon some senior players will be shown the door to accommodate for that pre draft

No chance.

I doubt that will be the case. Gill has said that there will be draft and he’s doing everything in his power to firstly finish this season and then the trade period and draft. The AFL need it all to go ahead as this season has been a financial drain so they need to claw back as much cash as they can.

In addition, next season could also be impacted by COVID-19 with Victoria’s current predicament. The AFL will be making sure everything continues on, this season and next.

I’m not convinced Newchurch is that highly rated, even though there has been some hype about him in the last 2 weeks. The club will stockpile some later picks and may have to delist a couple of guys with the idea of redrafting them.

Rubbish. It will be held but if lists are cut to 40 (from 44) then there may be only 50 players drafted.
